The Tongue Tingles

Sometimes when I don't vape for an hour or two and go for one of those sweet puffs my tongue tingles. Quite a bit actually.
Taste and throat hit are normal (and its not a dry hit) so I've come to the conclusion that it is from the nicotine. The nic in my blood had dropped and my tongue is reacting to it for whatever reason Its weird that I never experienced this with smokes though!
Anyone else get this bizarre sensation? I kind of like it.

Are you sure you are not getting hot juice popped onto your tongue?

Positive. This happens when I use one of my BCCs at 4 volts. And it doesn't happen when I'm vaping regularly, not necessarily chain vaping though.
Could this be a sign I should step down my nic?

Not sure, as it hasn't happened to me. Try drinking lots of water and see if it helps.
