'The Touch' : A touch-operated Power Stick

Steve....I hope your realise you now have to sign up to do one of the mod instruction courses for the touch operated power stick.....lol.

It's mostly the same procedure as for the NicoStick. There are lots of circuits for touch switches on the net, but I like my design so I'm keeping it secret because it's not so simple to get the sensitivity right and make sure that the final power though is fully efficient (critical in a VP). To be honest, it would be of far more interest to a manufacturer than the average modder. But I can make a few modules if anyone wants to try it in their own mod.

Nice work!

So does the switch work if you are driving, or camping, or live out in the boonies where there is no mains, radio waves, etc.?

Well, it works at the end of my garden :)

Seriously though there are satellite signals and such everywhere, undeciphered 'noise' from ET etc.

At first I thought that the brilliance would be that the contact would be the lips, so completely nothing to do - no button / touch pad at all (kind of) - BUT it's just so effective with the larger Li-ion battery that one must release 1 or 2 seconds before stopping inhaling. So now considering timed activation and even a temperature mapped output so the current would be high for say 1.5 seconds then gradually decrease for the following 3 or 4. Each half of the cuircuit worked fine. I had the wrong channel transistor to connect the two but will work on this again soon. The on/off slider could be: on/off/auto/manual.

nice mod.. great job. it has an "out on the town" James bond kinda thing going on:thumbs:

I think I know your meaning :) Just need a matching tux ;) Is that 'Beyond the sea' I hear ...

Did I mention the inbuilt GPS and secret transcoded tranmission system?

Well, allows smoke signals anyway ...

If you have a sensitive multimeter (micro or milli volts), try putting a diode across the two leads and see how much 'free energy' is there on tap! Extend the leads as antennae; or touch the positive lead (only) at the same time.

Might take some time to charge a battery though ...

Great idea, exceptionally innovative feature - and looks very well, too!

Those switched boxes are really covenient - close well and with nicely rounded edges.

But ... thinking about a translucent perspex box so can build a light show inside ;)

Took some 2 months to go from idea to actually building it!

That's not 2 months to build it - just 2 months being a bit lazy ...

The touch switch module utilizes the very latest in semiconductor technology; though the finished unit is small, it can handle an astonishing 50A. The design was minitiarized, soldered then cased in resin.

I want one of your miniaturization machines!!! You must have a silicon wafer factory and photolithography equipment in your back room.

Impressive work, my friend. Congrats.

Actually it's all in the front room ;)

What I mean is cut down the legs and build the circuit in 3D ...
