i am ever-so-prepared with my vape stock at home- got everything i need for probably at least 6 months to a year. but then i spent a lot of time primitive-camping in the woods this summer & the lack of an electric wall outlet presented a problem. i used my passthru on the road & brought along several charged batts & a small converter to turn my car's 5V cig outlet into a regular house-type outlet to re-charge my batts. but turned out the converter was a bad idea- it sucks your car battery at a rapid rate (found that out the day i charged my batts while listening to the car radio for a couple hours & then had to find someone to jump-start me way out in the woods).
so now i'm contemplating an extended road trip, car-camping my way out of wisconsin's impending winter wonderland (brrr...) & heading to the desert southwest to camp thru the winter on federal lands. was sounding like a plan, looking sweet, & then YIKES!! i began to panic- rule #1 of vaping- gotta have a reliable & constant power source!
after researching some really expensive alternatives, i came up with the perfect solution at my local farm & fleet (fleet farm for some of you ;-). for about $60 i bought an emergency car battery jumper. it has jumper cables cuz it's intended to jump-start your car, but it also has a 5V outlet AND a usb port. it gets itself charged whenever i'm driving by being plugged into my car's cig outlet. then when i'm camped i use it as my usb power source for vaping with my passthru & for charging my batts. lasts forever drawing such little power off it, & i don't ever have to worry about drain on my car battery. hell, for that matter, if the power ever went out at home for an extended period my 1st panicked thought won't have to be "holy vape, how'm i gonna charge?" ... lol.
and yeah, as a side benefit, if i'm in the sticks & my car battery fails i have a jump starter. if the folks that sell this car jump-starter knew how vital it is to this traveling vaper, they could have easily charged me double!
