A chevron is a shape

Chevron the oil company uses a chevron in their logo. The chevron shape was around long before the oil company.

And I was actually naming it after the *insignia* cheveron (or cheveron):

It was used a lot in heraldry, and...although there is no V-pattern on the Woodville, there is a V in the spelling of Woodville I know, my logic is somewhat...um....interesting.
