Four weeks into this and still feel like im missing something.
Started 4 weeks ago with the 7-11 PV and just fell in love, unfortunately the "X-Hale" wasn't quite quality enough for me. I killed 2 atomizers in the first couple days and the battery life was very short. I knew there had to be something better out there so I went to my most trusted adviser, Google.
I typed electric cigarette into Google........wow, I was not expecting to find a whole subculture of e-cig users. I knew I had to narrow things down, so I did what I always do, find the biggest most popular forum and read, read and read some more. Usually that is enough....but, even after my first few purchases I am consistently being tested.
I bought a Kr808 starter kit from a very reliable vendor and learned a few things. What I thought was a very high fail rate for cartomizers turns out my pass through was killing them. Got a free replacement for my pass through and the same thing was happening. Although this time it was different, it seemed that my new pass through was killing my cartomizers just as I was taking them off to use on one of my two batteries. Well through much trial and error I discovered the pass through was pushing in the center pin of my carto. Pushing it in so much that when I put it on the battery the center pin wasnt making connection. Since then Iv discovered the "paperclip trick" and all is well....for the moment. My newest issue, one of the two batteries I got with my kit as of today seems to have a bad switch. When I hold the battery LED facing up it turns on. Rotate it to face down and it turns off. Again I did use a reputable vendor, so I believe a replacement is on its way.
Cartomizers!!! Ya!! Quick and easy. Just the way I like it. But I am also a cheap ....... so I really liked the idea of being able to wash them out and reuse them a couple of times. As you might imagine that didn't work out as well for me either. I put them in a pot of water, put them on the stove and turned it up to high. I then went off to do something......."famous last words?". Anyhow Im sitting there watching a movie, I look over for some reason and notice that my whole apartment is filled with smoke!! Oh .... I forgot about the cartomizers.. the water had all boiled down and the carts had melted to the pot....I wont say anymore on that other than Iv since learned to set a timer.
The second time I boiled my carts "all new carts" it turned out great...
I let them dry for 24 hours, like I saw in the videos" what I didnt do was shake them out or blow through them before refilling. What I got was a very nasty flavor with all of them. Needless to say now I let them dry for 48 hours and shake them out and blow through them at least twice before refilling.
OMG!! is that it? Please tell me im done with the hardware woes. I have discovered that different cartomizers will taste different even with the same juice in them and different cartomizers seem to burn faster than others. That can make it difficult to find the right flavor juice. I did just receive my newest batch of carto's today and I am very impressed with them, the Vapor Nine Turbo.
I hate to say it but I believe my favorite juice so far would have to be from the cartridges that came with my now broken down "x-Hale". Every juice I try seems to have a little something missing, if not just totally bad.
I tried a small sample of honey cured from liquidXpress and thought it was good, although it was missing something it was good. So reading through the forums I see a juice vendor that everybody is raving about, so I decide to order a 30ml bottle of honey cure from them. I then went off to do something.....I received my honey cure today and it tastes awful. It was very perfumey with an aftertaste similar to clove analogs. I have heard that this vendors juice may taste better after it sits for a while, so I am going to try it again after about a week.
As for now the two flavors I do like are "555" and "Dunhill" both from V4L although they both seem to be missing something. The Dunhill is just a little to harsh and the 555 is a little too mellow.
For now and until I find that great ultimate flavor it seems im doomed to mix analogs in with my vape sessions.

P.S - As some of you may have noticed by my grammar and punctuation, I dont write very often. I just seemed to have all this frustration built up and instead of ..... ..... .....ing at my friends, I started typing and couldnt stop
