I know, this thread has been started 100's of times, but it is SOOOO true! I just knew mine was in the mail today, and on my way home from work to check, I almost couldn't contain my excitement! I opened the mailbox, pulled out the package, and I think I actually jumped up and down a couple of times before I remembered that I'm 36 years old, and the neighbors might be looking! Anyway, I walked briskly inside, tore open the package, and started going through my goodies. (Thanks Steve for the extras!!) That was at about 6:30, now it's almost 10:30, and I just realized that I haven't "smoked" since!! It did take a few minutes to figure out the right draw (my wife still hasn't gotten it yet), but now I'm vapin', baby!!
I do have a few questions, though. This is only my second pv (the first doesn't really even count, because I'm almost ashamed to say I got suckered by Smoke Assassin), so I'm not sure about the batteries or the pcc. I got 4 batteries, and all 4 draw differently. I think that's why my wife can't get it. The question here is whether that's nomal or not? I can deal with it, bit I'm afraid she's gonna get frustrated and stop trying.
The next issue is the pcc has been plugged in for about 4 hours now, and both LED's inside are solid red. The lower LED actually started out kind of flickering, but as I said, they're both just solid red now. Again, I have no idea if this normal or not. Anybody that has one, can you let me know?
Okay, I'll stop for now, except to say that I think the 11mg carts I got are too low (can't taste anything), and the 24mg are too high (man, I haven't gotten a headrush like this since I started smoking 25 years ago)!! I guess the next order will be 16mg.

Thanks in advance for any help with the questions,
Tom

Sorry about quoting the whole message but I am going to try to answer some of your questions.

batteries with different draw... that is possible if they are at different charge levels...if you are using the same cart on the different batteries that maybe the case...
you may need to post a little more about the steps you did i.e. used one cart switched batteries. one i just got off of the charger the othe used a bit,,, etc also ensure the cart is seated tight and snug.

About the PCC if Both LED'S ARE ON and you have a battery hooked up to it you will mostlikely need more than 4 hours to charge the PCC because you are charging the PCC and the battery at the same time (that also might explain the draw difference if that is the manner you are charging your Batts

IF the 2 LEDs are on and NO BATT connected you may have a faulty PCC
you should communicate to STEVE the owner of V4L and tell him your problem and he will make things right for sure..

I hope I helped and I am sure you will get more help on this post because we are a HELPFUL BUNCH :D:D

The charge level of the battery has nothing to do with the level of draw... if you mean amount of vapor then that's understandable..:D Although I have noticed consistency throughout the day of vaping, and I have not worn a battery all the way down. They do last a very long time..lol

However as you said, it is important for the cartomizer to be seated tight...there should be no gap if it is seated properly. I have noticed this will effect the draw.

I do have a few questions, though.
Let 'em fly!

Usually a sign of new batteries, be sure theyre screwed all the way down. New batteries and occasionally new cartomizers get a little hung on each other due to the grooves cut into the center post of each which allow air flow. Just be sure it's bottomed properly and it should be fine.

Once in a great while the alignment is such on the cartomizer to the little tiny airholes that loostening the cartomizer a teeny tiny bit will actuall increase draw difficulty. I do notice some difference between certain cartomizer/battery combinations due to this. if you study the battery threads closely you'll see the needle size holes that the air passes through..and the battery end of a cartomizer has 4 notches. These usually dont have to be aligned, and there's 4 to increase the odds that theyre close. Once in a great while though, a tiny tweak improves the draw.

The next issue is the pcc has been plugged in for about 4 hours now, and both LED's inside are solid red. The lower LED actually started out kind of flickering, but as I said, they're both just solid red now. Again, I have no idea if this normal or not. Anybody that has one, can you let me know?
Sounds to me like you have a battery in the PCC and the Pcc plugged in to charge. Thats fine, but it does take longer.
Top light *red* means PCC is charging and that is proper if its plugged in
Bottom light *red* means battery is charging, and if you have a battery threaded in, thats normal. Charging a PCC while the battery is in it does take longer though, so be prepared for that.
Okay, I'll stop for now, except to say that I think the 11mg carts I got are too low (can't taste anything), and the 24mg are too high (man, I haven't gotten a headrush like this since I started smoking 25 years ago)!! I guess the next order will be 16mg.

My luck was better, in that 24 turned out just right. Every smoker turned vaper is different. Everyone absorbs Nic differently depending on a great number of factors, including but not limited to: Depth of drag inhale, Lung condition, air way obstructions (with or without tonsils for example)...

Those 24's might come in handy when you feel like goin postal..happens sometimes, but you're right, if one seems too weak, and one makes the world shrink, then somewhere in the middle is probably your desired strength.

Thanks in advance for any help with the questions,
Tom

You're quite welcome, always 10 people lurking ready to answer and reanswer your questions :D

Reduced nic content improves flavor, the more nic, the more it masks the flavor, soyeah i'd say 16 has to taste better, ive noticed that on other flavors cant believe it wouldnt be true with chololate

Thanks for the correction.. that was a freudian slip:p ( haha not exactly) yeah I tend to confuse myself when looking back and forth from original post to my typing.... I just need to take the time and section the quotes out... I wish there was an easier way than cutting pasting...?

You guys (and gals) are great! I hoped for maybe one or two responses in a day, so imagine my surprise!
Anyway, to clarify some things from the original post, I think the differences in draw were from new cartomizers. I charged all batteries before use, so they were all "equal", but it does seem that there's an initial break-in for the atty. Only maybe 5 or 6 puffs, but it seems they just draw better after that. Now that I've got a day under my belt, all the batteries are the same.
Now for the pcc; I originally had no battery screwed into the pcc, just the pcc plugged into the usb. Both lights were on then. After the post last night (about 4.5 hours on the usb, and still both lights on red), I unplugged from the computer, and both lights went out. I screwed in a battery, and nothing happened. No lights at all. I figured then that something was wrong. I called Steve today, and he's taking care of me (as if there was any question?!?!) I'll keep everyone posted as my journey continues.

Thanks!
Tom
