So after following all the suggestions on here and from Maxx and Born regarding my one oddball shorty auto I got that draws real hard and won't stay lit, I threw it back on the charger and grabbed one of my other ones. Well after it was back to fully charged I tried it again. The first 2 or 3 puffs were perfect then it got real hard to draw again and the LED kept flickering. Almost as if that center post on the charger was pushing something inside the battery back into place. Any feasibility to this idea? Is this indicative a bad vacuum switch perhaps?

Sounds like a Pain in the Buttocks! I would be putting that warranty to use.

Already sent an email on it. I'd chalk it up to just me but since I don't have the problems with my other batteries or any of my carts all I can narrow it down to is this battery. My OCD just makes me get frustrated when I can't get it figured out. But it's as great as my other ones when it wants to cooperate.

Could be center post. I have an auto regular that every couple days I have to pry up the center post. I never leave the house with that one since it is not reliable. I could have asked for a new one, but I wasn't entirely sure it wasn't because I dropped it on a hard floor one day. But if yours is bad from the start....snag another one from V4L.

So Maxx you're saying I may be on to something with that idea about the charger post kind of rearranging things a bit? A big thanks to you on this one. I've tried every one of your other suggestions for this battery and that's the last thing that makes sense to me. And it just works perfectly too......until it decides not to.

The center post issue is not common....but it aint rare either. I have seen it mentioned several times and I also have one. I am very careful now to not drop them on concrete....or over-tighten them when charging. As soon as the LED blinks or the charger light changes...I stop tightening. Also I have been buying manuals lately.

I think you got it Maxx. I took the binder clip I disassembled for opening carts, stuck the end in the center hole on the battery and tried wiggling it a bit. It popped free all of a sudden and works like a champ. Thanks to everyone. Now I can sleep tonight without constantly wondering what might be wrong with that one.

I like the auto shorties for when I go out. I can't drive and press that little button at the same time. Also can't use a cell phone and drive at the same time.

since i am used to holding my cig while driving I just hold my pv like a cig when driving and squeeze my two fingers together to hit the button and I feel no difference. Not trying to sell manuals at all use what makes u happy I am just saying.
