AG, I'm sorry you see that as confrontational, but it's NOT a matter of personal taste whether coils have segments that are off the wick. Look at the photos.

At 280 deg C glycerin breaks down, and some acrolein is produced. Normally, in an atomizer, the juice does not reach 280 deg, the ceiling is set by the boiling temp of the mixture, and the liquid cools the coil. But if parts of the coil are glowing orange, those areas have escaped the cooling, you KNOW it's more than 280. Most juice contains at least some glycerin. Between where that nichrome is glowing and where it's immersed, there's a temp and reaction gradient, and if there is ANY glycerin in the liquid, it WILL be breaking down in some regions. What makes you say it isn't so? Can you explain?

Chemically, the question is how much of the produced acrolein will immediately react with other components, and I simply don't know. I'm pretty sure I can smell acrolein, it's that harsh bitter part of the burning grease "aroma", and it doesn't take much to smell it.

If you like the device, and if there is even a remote chance of acrolein being produced, or even if it's just that the coil winding is so sloppy, the switch lock doesn't work, the charger is bad etc, QA should promptly be looked at, and it's incorrect to say it's just a matter of "personal preference", isn't it? Why should we have to "take it or leave it"?

As to preference, different matter entirely, e.g. I don't care for the taste of their cartos. And whether 10% water makes juice taste bad IS subjective. I rather like it, but I don't really care about throat hit.

I also like the VMOD when used e.g. with better cookers, e.g. Boge 2 ohm cartos. I'm hoping to see more mods of the VMOD :)

Whenever I come across a litany of complaints (on any thread), it begs some questions. Does the complainer want help? advice? tips? Does the complainer simply want a place to vent? a place to pose a contrary opinion?

It can get a bit complicated.

Let's simplify this. Fernand, what is it you would like here in this thread from us?

Very simple.
1) I would like these issues to be recognized as important enough to make an effort to fix them ASAP, and not dismiss them. Now I know who to get in touch with.
2) I would like potential buyers to know some of the issues and limitations, but also what does work well, so they can better decide if they need this. I rely on pro/con reports. Frankly, I should not have gotten two.

It was from all of the input from this thread that helped to get the chassis updated, the new atty's, the catch cup, and numerous other things. AG was/is a major part in that.. Skinny aka Brian stands behind his product 110% and if there is an issue he will definitely want to take care of it... For all we know that's why he's over in China as we speak. He is a great man and the folk here are awesome and we also know that there can be issues w/any and all mods, attys, cartos, juices, no matter the brand.. It's not what we say sometimes but how we say it..

Welcome to the vmodian thread :)

Just thought I'd pop in with some feeding comments.

We've mentioned often in this thread that it's important not to over feed the VMOD.

Welp! One of mine is constantly bone dry. Not a leak in sight. What I have found interesting is that with the last 2 bottle fills of juice, I have not once squished the bottle. I have only tipped and vaped, and it is working perfectly! Go figure. Gravity is feeding it and it's constantly the right amount of juice.

Happy Vapes, kids. :D

Oh Kat Darling :) :)
I just took my vmod apart after vaping a bottle dry with only 1 squirsh (I was chain vaping and gravity couldn't keep up). I must say this is a very nice thing that has been discovered, "The Tilt and Vape". I feel the love and warmth seeping back into vmod's and mine relationship. It is no longer in the doggyhouse.. Just wanted to share !

Good Nite All and to All a Good Vape !! :vapor:

Frankly, my dear...

I do appreciate your intelligent remarks. Please be mindful tho, that many people love this mod. I do believe the vaping world is cognizant enuf to realize that there are pros and cons to any and every device. This thread is 3400+ and much of it is "cons" towards the VMOD. Yet, we are still here, and discussing it. That speaks volumes, does it not?

Happy Vapes, Fernand.

From you, Vikki, of all peeps, I am thrilled to hear that you have made up with your VMOD. Sometimes we have to battle wills with our loved ones, eh? But in the end, it's a John Lennon story. All you need is love.

Elusive, like the vaping sweet spot, but pastable. ;)

Hiya Vmodians, I don't know what to do about my Lil guy(Vmod):?:He has become extremely clingy and does not want me to give attention to any of my other mods:blink: I wake up, there he is saying tank me up with Da Joose, and put some fresh power in me:facepalm: Never mind those other guy's, I'll get ya through the day:laugh: Either way, I :wub:the Lil' guy. Ever since his Lil' issue was resolved, I cannot put him down, fits perfectly in the hand, button is sooo comfortable, the draw with the cone is perfect and this whole tilting thing rock's(although I still give a lil pressure on the bottle on occasion:facepalm:). But what gots me goin' is the flavor from both Silo Carto and Hybrid atty's(I use IKV901 atty's and IKV801 Fusions on other mods) and the :vapor:, oh man the:vapor::vapor::vapor:!!! Needless to say, this Lil guy will NEVER part from me:laugh:Now just gotta wait and see what he looks like in his new threads!!! Rock on Vmodians:headbang:
Tat:vapor:

Tat--skull. Your comments above are exactly why some of us have been hanging out here for months!

The Vmod is a unique little feeder with a great hybrid atty. And, I like the silo, too.

Glad we could help you sort out your concerns.

And, everyone --- I'm gonna check out those fancy blue 900 mAh batteries and some new clothes, too!

I wanted to post and thank every one for all the valuable input they have provided in this thread. AG, Katdarling, T-Taz, Tearo, Kasia, Gel, Tat, Vikki, Proav9, and any one else I neglected to mention. The information has helped me enjoy my Vmod, more than that, it has enabled me to actually make use of the mod (special thanks to AG for that).
There is no going back for me, the Vmod just out performs my other mods. The customer service is great, and from what I understand the developers are continuing to look for ways to improve the design and manufacturing process. So I guess I'm here for the duration....if you'll have me :).

Don't get too excited.

Hopefully by Christmas. :)
