Didn't Joker originally say no squonking? I too have been playing around, but not as successful as you Kat. I guess I need 13 more to experiment with, huh? :)

I was just thinking that somewhere back in the middle of this thread someone had mentioned that squarshing wasn't necessary. Just tipping and vaping as Kat said... Maybe I should try that again. Ya never know what can rekindle a love affair :)

How do the ming dt's sit on the vmod?? I have noticed in my obsession w/dt's that not all are made equal... Some too big, some too small, pyrex seems to be real iffy. bought a couple of the pink ones for the cause and they won't even sit on the vmod because of the cone. So I'm not sure what/how to fix this problem. No I don't have any of the "good ones" yet, ie: trippy tips, am signed up for newsletter tho, hopefully it won't come out until next month... Ordered my first ming, just love the style. Most of mine are the cheapies anodized. but the colors are soooo pretty

The stock VMOD atomizers IMHO are worse than caca. Details on request. But the feed system is nice.

re: Post 637. Here's how I quick-modified a Boge 2.0 cartomizer (one of the very best IMHO, but with a tiny liquid capacity), to use on the VMOD. It's hard to drill where Vapage have their slits. If your hole(s) is any higher, the gasket covers it when the cone is screwed down. But if you cut a slice of carto condom, you can make a narrower gasket that only gets pushed down as far as shown. It feeds fine, it vapes fine, no leaking so far. Every time I squonk, the carto make even MORE vapor. Incredible smooth taste too.

May I ask, A.G., are you buying all that VMOD gear out of your own pocket, or getting some kind of deal?

Proax, you almost there, bro'. You only need some gaffer's tape ;-)

(LATER) I'm finding the one hole to be sufficient. I'm not finding it essential to use a bottom gasket, just tighten pretty tight. I used one of the $40 Dremel drill presses and held the carto with a C-clamp. The drill bit had better be a hard one. Next one will be better. The heat from drilling is enough to burn filler in the carto. Keep it cooled somehow. The slice o' condom gasket is adequate. There's bound to be some seepage along the carto body with that funky gasket, but no leaking so far.

If you only knew how much money I spend on vaping...
Vmod stuff is a drop in the bucket compared to my GG stuff.

I'm not sure what your issues are with the BF Hybrid attys, but I think they're awesome.
You say you are burning them up, but mine are lasting for a month at least.
I still have one that's been running for months...vaped a lot of Halo Torque through it too.

As for the Vapage batteries...I like them a lot.
I use the 1.5ohm BF Hybrid atomizers and the Vapage batteries come out hot, but then hold the level charge for good long time. I have no empirical data to back up my claims, but I really am liking them better than the IMR at this point.

re: Batteries. The Charger they supply is odd. If you load it up with both batteries, lights go red, then charge until both green lights come on, then switch the two batteries, it goes back to red for a long time. It looks like only one bay is actually usable. No idea how best to use it. In any case I don't believe 900 mAh is enough battery to run 1.5 ohm attys on. The batteries "fold" (voltage drops a lot), and I had to swap/recharge batteries several times during 4 hours of testing.

re: Batteries. The ON-OFF switch lock does not work. It was apparently designed for batteries with a flatter positive terminal. The switch engages even if it's supposedly locked in the "OFF" position. This is because the batteries they supply have a healthy "cap", so that the switch plate connects with barely a push.

AG, I'm not burning attys up. Out of 4, one was DOA, the bottom post was making no connection. Two out of the remaining 3 have the coil wound much too loose on the wick. The result is that sections of wire are not cooled by liquid and glow orange even if the atty is soaking wet. This high temp breaks down juice, e.g. VG breaks down to acrolein, which is extremely toxic. I happen to use mostly glycerin in my juices, so I notice. It was the acrid harsh taste of acrolein that alerted me to the problem, much to my surprise. I suppose it's a "throat hit", but I don't think it's OK. For all that I wasn't tasting much flavor or getting much vapor. At 2 ohms it was wimpy, at 1.5 it was very harsh.

The Silo cartos taste odd, I don't like that aftertaste one bit, and I didn't feel well after testing the unit. No, I'm not a placebo responder, at all. I do like the neutral taste of Boge 2.0s (as well as Echos, SMOK dual coils etc - I know what a clean carto tastes like).

I know there are people here who are totally in love with these VMODs. And with a different carto I'm beginning to like it too. But with all the enthusiasm I expected not to have problems like what I ran into. I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I appreciate the friendship that prevails here. But people who are looking for impartial info have every right to hear the pros and the cons. No offense to anyone intended.

Mods are definitely NOT 'one size fits all....; just like juices. I agree people should be aware of the good and bad opinions.
Maybe someone should start a 'netflix' for mods- you know- rent one for a week or two, buy if you like- return if you don't. Or just keep trying new stuff!
Any ideas for a name.... (have at it!)

Fernand you have a pm. Sorry about the DOA, but it happens. Brian worked hard to get QC in order last trip and looks like he must address it again. I do not vape much VG (sensitivity issues), so I have not had the problem with the wick. I have no doubt he will make it right for you though. If you don't care for the silos I don't know what to say as I am not a carto fan. I found they were similar to IKV Fusions in taste & performance. Fusions are all I can stand in cartos because of the muted flavor across the board.

In all things vaping, one size does not fit all.

OK, so I tested or attempted to test the new Vapage batts against AW high drain. My meter's top connection will not accept a hybrid atty, ugh. Under load, I had to hold the 2.2 ohm atty till it fired.

AW high drain 4.12V
under load 3.62V

Vapage 4.14V
under load 3.53V

No real surprises here. No flame jackets to test.

Good job, t-taz, and good info for all of us. According to AG, the Vapage batt doesn't stay in the super hot range as long as an IMR, but it does stay in the upper range longer. It's very consistent. IMR is either hot medium or dead. The others tend to hold that upper medium for a long time.

Happy Vapes~
