Quickie report on modifying "Resurrector" or "Rejuvenator" cartos for the VMod. These are XL 1.7 ohm vertical coil cartos from smoktek.com.
In practice they are very much like Boges 2s except for the greater length. The connector is the same. Slitting with a Dremel "cut-off wheel" proceeds the same, same depth, same absence of easily damaged structures as you cut.
The main difference, besides the extra length and larger juice buffer, is that the resistance is a little lower, hence more vapor, more flavor. But, in addition, the filler is looser. It's as if less of the porous blanket were wrapped around the central air shaft. That might be a disadvantage in normal use, but it's actually helpful in our case.
On a Boge 2 the filler slowly becomes log-jammed when bottom-fed. The draw and taste gradually go downhill. The filler stiffens and makes squirshing harder and harder. That puts more stress on the bottle neck, and liquid can start to seep around the vertical gasket. This, all together, limits the life of a chain-vaped Boge to a few days, much as when used standalone.
Yet after 3 days madly honking on the same slitted "Resurrector" I can still squirsh perfectly, no sign of the dreaded logjam brick wall effect. We'll see how long they last, no carto lasts forever, but so far the draw is also still good, the taste still clear as a bell. So if you don't mind the greater length, these cartos fit the VMod very well.
