Hey Cubist...

Is the catch cup installed?
Do you vape most of the juice after feeding?
How is the upper seal fitting?

It shouldn't "leak like crazy."

Give some specifics & we can help you.

As far as the new feed chamber in the 14500...I'm guessing they will implement it at some point...

Here is my new XL. :)

Are they going to be making changes to the current, smaller V-Mod? I'd really prefer the smaller 14500 model, but this thing leaks like crazy. I'm pretty confident that I'm not over doing it. I will set it down and a few hours later pull the shell off to switch flavors and it's soaked inside.

Definitely sounds like an upper seal problem. The new ones are fantastic (1.99 for a set of 5, with 5 lower seals as well). If you want to troubleshoot first, make sure the seal is tight around the atty or carto. You can turn it inside out to make it fit better, or wrap some scotch tape around the atty/carto first before putting the seal on. 1-2 wraps should do it, but be careful not to block the inlet ports at the bottom. Also, make sure the cone isn't tightening the seal down over the ports.

With the seals fitting correctly, you shouldn't be experiencing much leakage.

Also, check to make sure the bottle is securely sealed and isn't cracked. I've heard reports of bottles cracking at the base of the threads and it could be almost invisible.

Try that and see if it helps, we'd like to see you get it working flawlessly!

Happy birthday to you, Vikki!

Happy vapaversary to you, Tierra!

@Cubist try 1) new bottle 2) 1-2 wraps scotch magic tape around atty, vertical gasket on atty a bit high, screw in together into Vmod, screw down cone only part way, add rubber band around cone threading to stop shell rattling. Later get an o-ring selection pack at hardware store and find one to replace rubber band.

I'll try the scotch tape thing. I've been vaping it without the shell on it to see if I could figure it out. I'm guessing it's the seal.

Right now, I'll give it a tip downward at about a 45 degree angle, wait for a bubble or give it a slight shake until one floats up then invert it right side up and give the bottle a bit of a squeeze until it feels like the e-liquid trapped in the bottle neck is pushed out. Then I'll give it a couple of sucks before vaping. I usually get about 8 drags or maybe 10 before I feed it again. If anything I think I'm letting the atty burn a bit dry. Looking at the one I am using, it looks to be a bit burnt where the coil is.

With the shell off, I get juice that drips from between the metal threads of the bottle holder and the plastic chassis. The bottle threads themselves are dry as a bone. The area where the top battery spring is as well as the plastic post of the button. As dry as this thing vapes it's almost like the juice is feeding up and out of the bottle fine but not into the atty itself?

The new XL is everything we've asked for! No more upper seals or atty gaskets, no leaks, uses other brand 510 attys, uses other brands of cartos, & the big 18650 battery! The new Vmod XL is a friggin monster! The internal resistance is low too, so the voltage drop is still minimal. I should have a pre-production (opposed to my prototype) later today. I'm hoping to make a video & start a new thread this week sometime. You guys are going to love it! Should be priced about the same as the Vmod 14500.

Great news ..
Now anyone want to buy a grandchild so I can get me one :D
