Isn't that the truth. Whiskey tastes better, at least that's what I've heard anyway. We could always empty the water bottle and fill it with jungle juice.
Holy cow! Two posts in less than a week. Thanks for stopping by and a big hello to you two. I started this thread some time ago and since the shot of whiskey thread started, we've kinda of neglected this one.
I know I haven't been posting much lately, so I thought I would let you all know what I've been up to. I finally found a job after being unemployed for more than a year. I start Monday morning. That has been taking up most of my days.
My evenings have been learning a new hobby. Hittman might remember me posting a while back about it, but I was just looking at it at the time. About a month ago I dove in and finally started something I've always wanted to try. Straight razor shaving. It's a steep learning curve with a little blood letting, but it is very satisfying to me to have a razor, strop and hone and be able to put razor sharp steel to my throat and come away relatively unscathed. You wouldn't believe how sharp these blades need to be to shave with. I got most of my razors in antique stores, but I did order one shave ready for reference. I can finally shave every day, without a ton of irritation...

Skrymr......Congrats on the new job!!! I must admit before I read you entire post I was worried what your new job might have been after seeing all those straight edge razors!! Glad that is just a hobby!!....Yikes!! I really didn't know you were out of the workforce for so long......Hope you have a smooth and successful transition!

I've checked it out, and there is a lot of great information there. I prefer Badger and Blade since I got started out there with old Gillette and Gem double edge and single edge razors.
Thanks Wiz, it seems like the place will be a nice fit for for me. I walked in the apartment after the interview to the phone ringing. It was them offering me a job. I've been working with a head hunter, and they've just been jerking me around. This job I found on my own.

Hey Fudgey, yeah I'm in Enid 5-6 times a year. Usually stay at the HI off Owen K and eat at Costello's.
Glad to hear about the job Skrymr, don't know about the straight razors. Had a friend in India that used a straight razor and he even carried a wisk and powder to froth up a lather to shave with, too much work! LOL.
