Just thought I give everyone here a heads up(and look for sympathy at the same time)on my upcoming vist to the oral surgeon on Friday. I am have both of my upper wisdom teeth removed as well as an abcessed upper back molar(years of smoking had not been too good on my teeth).They are going to "knock me out" for this procedure(Thank God!),and the poor wiz is terrified of dentists in general.Just in case I don't make it through,just wanted everyone to know how much I love all of my fellow Emeraldites....You guys were the best! Heading out to the store now for my recovery celebration dinner menu(Ice-cream,Jello,Pudding,Broth and Peanut Butter)Feel free to post your goodbyes to me here in this thread! Thanks!!The Wiz!

OOOHH, you sure have my deepest sympathy!!! I get physically ill just thinking about going to the dentist..when I come out the front of my shirts are permanently pressed where I hung onto them. Good luck to you, it will all be over soon, you know they're getting so advanced now that it hardly hurts at all.....

Wiz - don't fret. They give you LOTS of good drugs when you have your 'wiz'dom teeth out (but that won't make you less of a Wiz in my book!) and you'll be fine in no time.

The Emeraldites will light candles in the windows for you, to speed your recovery.

Thanks Sun!!.....Mrs.Wiz and the Munchkins have promised to nurse me back to health,and the Dentist is the same guy who successfully removed my lower wisdom teeth over 25 years ago..I can only hope he has not regressed in that spam of time!The Wiz!

That way, at least you would know that his dykes, or pliers, or channel locks, or whatever they were using Waaaayyyyy back then, would be in the best of shape! Oh, I hate the dentist too..I had my teeth pulled out a few years ago except I wasn't put under..I was awake for the whole thing, very awkward to say the least...youll be ok

Ahh my wizardly friend do not worry you have an entire city behind you.
I had all four wisdom teeth pulled at the same time by my regular dentist (in hindsight it was a bad idea but cheap) I got a half a dozen needles in my mouth and I wont tell you that it doesn't hurt But i will tell you that you will Be glad you don't smoke anymore because I got what they call dry socket and next to that the pulling of the teeth was a picnic at the beach...

Hey, Wiz, to get ready for your impending operation, I would suggest you rent the movie with Dustin Hoffman and Lawrence Olivier called "The Marathon Man". Then, if the dental surgeon asks you, "Is it safe?" before starting the procedure, you will know to get the heck out of there as fast as you can.

Also, I hope your dentist doesn't look like Lawrence Olivier!

Dh had a vasectomy two weeks ago and I thought I was going to have to wait on him hand and foot for a month! lol I let it be known after day three that there was no sex until he could get up and get his own sh*t. He bounced back real quick then.

Wiz - you might wanna stay away from vaping for a day or 2 after your surgery - it's not the cigs that cause dry socket, it's the suction you create in your mouth from sucking on things - like straws, cigs, PV's.....

ask your dentist - he'll advise against it.
