Up late last nite (this morning) reading this thread. I've been vaping for about a month and love it! Don't ever want to go back to analogs. And, I don't want to spend a lot of money trying to find THE answer for me. The Wizard looks like the (almost) perfect at-home vape. But, it also looks like Charger is going to perfect it - I'd be in line for that! So my question is ... should I order a Wizard now, or wait for Charger? I'm using a Joye 306 now, it's ok, a little hi-mntnc cuz have to keep charging the auto batteries and dipping. Any help abt where this is going wd be most appreciated! Thanks.

Welcome everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
Klynn, my personal suggestion would be to get a Wiz and have it on it's way to you, then await developments on the thread. These things are so much fun on their own, any enhancments will be gravy.

Charged you da man.I only wish I lived near you as I love to tinker as well. You are doing some really great work here.I think you are getting a bigger following all the time. I am from the great white north so we have a bit of time to play around during the winter months. Anyway This is again an amazing group here and can't wait till the next upgrade or update to see what you have found out next.
Keep up the great work.I am still waiting for my first e cig as it should be here today. So I haven't even tried any of this as of yet.I am so looking forward to using these units. And our wonderful Gov has banned them in canada. But there are some great people that are selling them.

Hello all, just letting you know I'm still going after this thing. Have a bit of a stumble with a close friend passing away. It happens when you get older.

I'm compiling a Wizard users guide. I'll put it in it's own thread. This will help those interested in trying this device a way to get good information from what we've learned and not have to read though all the crap in this thread.

I plan to continue with mods to the device here, but think it would be better to segregate the stock device to allow users a better way to use it directly out of the box. Should have it ready by the weekend.

Sorry about your friend. :(

I am looking forward to your new HOW-TO WIZARD thread.

Have you wired one for a wall-adapter for non-battery use yet?

Unfortunately the design of the heater circuit board will not allow a single external DC source. They actually use 1/2 or 3 of the batteries to do the switching or heating. It would require some soldering skills and a guide to allow this to work.

Thanks for your kind words guys I appreciate it. Seems like your whole life is a big math problem.

Trying to add to your income, subtract from your weight, divide your time and attempt not to multiply.:)

I've come up with a couple ideas on the fluid flow issue on the glass tube atomizer replacement for the Wizard. I'm anxious to get back at it. Hopefully, will make progress and get some pics/vids up for your enjoyment sometime tomorrow.

Got it.

Opened it up, installed 6 AAs, watered down my juice a bit and filled the tank. Let it make a few clouds first - works. And then...

BAM!

Wow. You have to be a bit careful with this. It's a POWER HITTER.

This little thing will be fun! I am getting the feeling that my two favorite PVs will be my WIZ and my WELLER SOLDERING IRON MOD.

COOL! Thanks Charged - great find.

Hey Charged -

Have you discovered the perfect mix-ratio for liquids yet? When I tested it out with the supplied fluid it was great. As soon as I started messing with my own mixes the vapor started petering out. Maybe too thin?

Also - what is your method for cleaning with vinegar and how can you tell when it is time to clean?

Thanks

Well I was kinda saving this amunition for the users guide soon to come, but since you asked.

  1. You do not want to completely fill the liquid chamber. Air is more easily compressed than liquid. If you fill it all the way up you loose some of your ability to control the flow. Small amounts of pressure results in a large amount of fluid flow and your vapor will be lame and cold.
  2. Too much watering down of the e-juice will result in sputtering and it will be hard to get the vapor to produce the way you would like as your just heating too much water and not enough e-juice.
  3. I use Dakang as my base juice. The consistency of this stuff is pretty good so I always get the highest nic content I can, and then reduce it (thin it out) by 20% to 30% with distilled water. This will give really good vapor and you will still get good flavor.
I'll hold off with the rest as it is gonna take some time to get all my notes together and edit them to make sense.

The part that really counts is that you would like the consistency of your liquid to be very close to the consitency of the fluid supplied with it. You can use a mirror or piece of glass. Make sure it's clean. Put one drop of the liquid supplied and one drop of your e-juice. Tilt it up slowly and watch the flow. Try to get them close to each other and you'll be good.

The vinegar bath is still up in the air. I have 2 stock units that have been OK for 4 weeks. I don't use them constantly but do use them once in a while. I would say maybe once a week fill a glass with vinegar, pull the fill plug and make sure the vinegar level is above the inlet tube (you may have to press the plunger to get all the air out) let it soak overnight while you sleep. Rinse it with faucet water and refill in the morning. You should be good to go.

Hope that helps,
