I got a pair of these last week, and these are really amazing!
Here's a couple of comments:
I got a glass turkey-baster and taped it onto the end with electrical tape; I think this vastly improves it; you can build up a tube full of dense vapor, and then draw it out. No spitting in your face, and the LED helps show off the density of the vapor. Also, with the clear glass tube it's easier to see how well it's working, and get that balance of how hard to press the switch.
I've been playing around with mixes. Most of my
juice is 70%pg/30%vg. I like this better with more VG so I've been adding some. Also, I thin the
juice a bit with vodka (shelf, 80 proof) to help reduce clogging. The mix I use is 2 parts
juice, 1 part glycerine, 1 part vodka. I wish I had 100%vg juice; the vodka gives the throat hit, while the vg gives a great density to the vapor, and brings out the flavors quite nicely. (I like vanilla and fruit flavors, so the sweetness is a good complement). Yes, it's diluting the nicotine content down, but with the size of the draws that's probably a good thing! I can easily vape this until my lips and/or toes start to tingle! (Which means it's time to stop!!!)
I gotta try this with a liqueur someday, but I'm afraid I'll totally clog it up; anyone tried this with Kahluah or Amaretto? Maybe peppermint schnapps or creme de menthe?
When it seems like it's starting to clog up, I empty the chambers and re-fill with straight vodka. I then pump it through alternating between "very juicy" and "very dry" (i.e. letting the element heat up before sending fluid through). Seems to work like a charm. I'd be reluctant to use vinegar because it is corrosive and conductive. (And yes, when I'm cleaning it I do occasionally vape the result!) That's another advantage to the turkey-baster; while the power is on it's not pointed in your mouth! (although it's never done anything but vape for me).
Also, if it seems like it's clogging, try re-charging your batteries; the LED will still glow brightly even when the batts can't drive the coil hard enough. I would recommend NOT running this on low batts, since that seems to make it clog more quickly.
Just my 2 cents. I wish this thread was sticky; I think the discussion and the product both merit it! Is there some other thread on this that is more current? And is anybody thinking of doing an "excerpts of"? There's some incredible posts in here, but the thread is SOOOOOO long!
