Ok. So i'm taking a leap here and I'm going to start dripping. I have an MVP2, and just ordered some 1.7 ohm 510 attys and 510 drip tips from vaping Zone. That's all i'll need right? When I get the atty and drip tips i'll be good to go? I saw a great post on here by Ocelot which inspired me. Just want to make sure i'll be good with my setup.

Prebuilt. Don't want to rebuild anything.

So I mean, you're gonna be dripping, but you're not going to be getting the same experience as you would using an RDA.

That said.. The "carto experience" is a pretty nice one. I used a 510 Boge for a short period of time (before getting my first RDA) and it was a really nice vape. Great flavor, nice cloud production, and really hassle-free.

Not sure what you meant by the 'carto' experience, but using a carto and a 510 atty are way, way different. The 510 atomizer has minimal wicking material and requires almost constant dripping. A carto is filled with batting and can hold up to a few ml of liquid.

For me, cartos always had a taste, not a particularly bad taste, but it was always there.

There is little out there that gives a cleaner taste in a pre-built topper than a good 510 atomizer.

Main tip I can give you is don't drip too much. Assuming you got an unsealed atomizer, your liquid will drip out of the bottom of it and down into your connector. If you got a sealed atty (which I find are much less hassle to be honest) then you'll just get a gurgle if you over drip.

If you have a 510 to 510 connector it might be worth using so you can catch any over-drips before they get down into your connector.

Oh lol, I always assumed Carto's and 510 atomizers were the same thing. The terminology kind of doesn't make sense, because an atomizer is anything that atomizes (ie: vaporizes), and most atomizers have a 510 connector (all RDA's, technically, fall under that criteria).

The Boge's I used had no filling material, I had to re-drip every 3-7 puffs (depending on how hard I was hitting it, and how much I had dripped previously).

So would you say 2-3 drops then puff puff? Any good websites for diferent attys?

Ocelot's blog on dripping has some good tips how to do it. I've linked it below.

Basically you will drip a couple of drops in the atty, then give it a little pull with no firing. It should gurgle slightly. If it's not gurgling, put another drop, repeat until you get the slight gurgle.

Then fire and enjoy. You'll get used to how many drips.

Written down it sounds more complicated than it is. Just wipe up those overdrips quickly. You'll probably get a couple of dry hits too because you didn't drip enough - not good vapes.

As for other attys, there are a lot out there. Personally I used KP Long Barrel Sealed Atomizer - Kidney Puncher but there are others that are less expensive.

So i could also use cartos and they would go right on to my MVP? I was kind of curious about those too.

Yes, a lot of people used a 'naked' carto on their mods to vape with. Then came the carto tank which is the same carto with holes in the side (punched) in a tank of liquid.

A lot of people still use them today.

Baditude has a good blog on the differences between all the different toppers. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-guide-juice-attachments.html

You're right, it's weird how the terminology has evolved.

I remember when I first started vaping, I was lost with all the different 'izers' and didn't understand the differences.

But yes, sounds like you had a 510 atomizer, not a cartomizer - lol

A prebuilt atty, if I am thinking correctly, does not have any filler material or is a hybrid liek the HH357. You drip directly on the coil. It is a much better vape than an RDA that use cotton/Silica/Rayon or Ox hair. The only issue with them is constantly dripping. I never understood over packing an RDA with filler material so you wouldn't have to drip as much.. kinda defeats its purpose.

Once you get the hang of them...they are wonderful.
