The Young Vapers Club! (18-25)

Well, i thought it'd be a good idea to make a thread for the younger vapers since there seems to be a good amount of you on the interwebz! I myself am 18 years old, but have been vaping since I was 15 when my Dad surprised me with an ego-t for my birthday as a "quit smoking" present. I haven't smoked an analog since!

As young vapers, we (at least me) take pride in walking around the street, vaping as we cruise in our cars, and simply showing them off to the public. They are instant conversation starters!

I would not qualify. I am damn near 40, but wow! 18 and vaped about twice as long as I have! Congrats! By vaping, I can tell you that you are sparing yourself of the expense, illness, and the heartache of smoking. I hate to sound like an 'ol hag, but I cannot understand with all the bans and bad stigma of cigarettes, why any kid (take it in a good way, we grow old quicker than we think) would want to pick up smoking anymore. I almost forgot about the fines and how cops deal with underage smokers. When I was a kid, the cops didn't care, and there were many stores that didn't feel pressed to card. That was the choice of the cashier. I just could not imagine the hassle of being an underaged smoker these days...

Hi Wyatt. Like Worzel, I'm afraid I too cannot quality as a "young vaper," (alas...) but want to congratulate you for staying off the stinkies. I've been vaping for 8 months now, and it seems like I had my last cigarette, oh, 4 or 5 weeks ago, lol! But I guess time moves differently when one gets up there in years, cause I'm sure 3 years would seem like 10 years to you and not 6 months.

I would only caution you and every other young vaper to be courteous when you vape in public and to be aware of the sensibilities of others, many of whom have irrational fears and dislike of anyone who even looks like they're smoking. We vapers know that vaping is far less risky than smoking, but the general public still needs a lot of educating in this respect, and I'd hate for you to be subjected to some of the rude and inappropriate reactions anti-smoking zealots frequently subject us to. Vape proud, vape courteous!

Slightly off topic: I'd like to compliment you on your writing ability! I don't know many 18 year olds who can express themselves with such maturity of style. Well done!

Hey Wyatt!
It's definitely nice to see some more young blood around here. I'm 23 myself and the youngest vaper I've seen in person. I quit the stinkies almost 7 months ago.
I know what you mean about conversation starters. I vape outside with the smokers while I'm on campus, and I've gotten a few people interested.
I'm also the only smoker at work (in a pharmacy) so I keep my coworkers up to date with my progress. They're really proud of me and it gives me another opportunity to rave on about e-cigs. Plus, sometimes people just plain out can't afford smoking cessation products, like Chantix, and I tell them about e-cigs.

Yay I made the cut! Im one of the cool kids! Haha

22 have been vaping for about a year and deff dont regret it and not only is it a convo starter but all my smoker friends are always mooching off my pv and are always amazed at how good it is, I diy my own juice and I think im starting to get a nack for it haha. Tho iv been trying to get them to convert its been slow goings. I love wipping it out at the bar and seeing reactions and talking to people I would have never talked to otherwise haha met some great people because of it.

Vape on my fellow youngsters we are afterall saving our own lifes.

Wow... I qualify for this as well. Been vaping for 6 months now... I am 20, and I picked up cigs just months before I found electronic cigarettes. My story is different, I am sure...

24, just made it! Been vaping for about 5 months now. Started on analogs at 13. I do enjoy showing my vapes off, mainly yes to spread the word. But also bc I enjoy it way more than I did smoking, and its become a big hobby of mine.

It is interesting to note that most of the hobbyists like myself, that are on her, are older. It is almost surprising... But then again, I do have a good knowledge of Electronics thanks to AP Physics and my adventures with Amateur Radio... So Ohm's law comes naturally to me...
