Theme Park use(Kennywood in particular)

Going to Kennywood this weekend and was wondering if anyone has been there and used e-cigarettes in areas outside of the 'designated smoking areas'. I looked on their website and could not find any mention of e-cigarettes, only analong.

I know in general one should follow common sense in something like this, and only use them in those certain areas. Being they are still unknown by many people, and those who do know about them are split to thinking they are either just as bad, or much better then regular cigarettes. I know in some places around pittsburgh these are considered OK for use, like i know they can be used at Pirates games with no problems. However i also know places that do not allow them, like the Highmark building in downtown Pittsburgh(at least for employees they are not permitted).

So does anyone have any experiences using e-cigarettes at theme parks, or specifially at Kennywood?

i have no clue for kennywood.

i know first hand from Holiday World in Santa Clause, Indiana that they discourage vaping outside of the smoking areas. i had one of the higher end park managers ask me to either carry a cup of water in a coffee cup and blow into that so it only looks like im blowing on my hot coffee, or stand inside the smoking area lines. then the manager wished me best of luck staying away from cigarettes and to enjoy my stay.

I went to idlewild two weekends ago and I stuck mainly to the smoking areas but did on occasion in soak zone puff on it while sitting by the pool. I got some ugly looks but in the smoking area I got a lot of questions from smokers. So I would stick to the smoking areas. There are no rules as of yet but why give them reason to make rules.

People at theme parks smoke with no regard as well. There were tons of people standing in lines smoking and walking around smoking. But depends on the park as well. Some have a ton of smoking areas and some have very few. I was never one to smoke around people I alway found a corner away from crowds and I do the same vaping.

Vape openly where ever but respectfully. Hanging out in smoking areas sends the message that vaping and smoking are exactly the same and equally dangerous. This is not the perception that we want to provide to the uninformed. Just be well educated on the lastest studies from CASAA on vaping so you can explain the safety of vaping if asked.

Have fun.

I vaped openly yet respectfully in Disney World, and not in the smoking section. Usually just while walking around a puff or two and blew clouds down. I too like the coffee cup idea. I feel like vaping is more accepted in Florida, I saw tons, literally, tons of people walking around with their set ups around their neck like me :)

Have seen people vaping at our local park Darien Lake, some in and some out of the designated smoking areas. I've gotten some nasty comments from people when i had the Blu style ecigs because they look soo much like an analog. Once i switched to an ego type the remarks are more courteous and generally inquisitive. People's perception of vaping will only change with education on the differences and its up to us to take the time to teach them. just my 2 cents

Good idea to switch to a model that does not look like an analog. We need to break the perception that vaping is the same as smoking in every way possible.
