Theme Parks

Been vaping about nine months now (thanks for all the info received here) and had my first issue today. At a New Jersey theme park and approached by security who was convinced he had bagged a smoker rather than an ex-smoker. He asks me what I have in my hand. Politely explain it is an electronic cig and that it is vapor not smoke. He says I know it is not smoke but when people see it they think it is smoke and tells me I have to vape in the smoking section. Rather than getting into a long discussion about using e-cigs to stop smoking and make all the complainers happy, i say ok and ditch him. Had to utilize stealth methods for the rest of my visit. I can't see why these folks can't see that former smoker sitting in the middle of the smoking section is very much like someone trying to quit drinking sitting a bar all night.

Hi, it sounds like you did the right thing. That is an interesting comparison. You can see reformed smokers all around us, every day.

At my workplace, I still go to the smoking spot, partially because it is a large employer, and I have friends that I would only see in the smoking area. I also quietly vape elsewhere.
