Over my many years of smoking i had tried to quit several times before vaping came into my life.
I notice that each time i tried quitting the customery 5-10lbs of body weight would be packed on by filling the nicotine void with comfort food and high calorie sweets & desserts etc. Well now i am 100% off analogs immediately after my first vape, but i only vape flavors that would be high sugar/calorie - weight gain type foods. I vape a lot of cola's, root beer, Mr. Pepper, Mountain Dew and sweets like snickers, chocolate and lots of fruits. basically i would never say this to make e-cigs even a remote consideration for weight loss, however in my personal case, today i drink almost no cola, coffee cut in half, i eat 50% less snacks. My favorite vape flavor this week is blueberry- too bad i wont eat what i vape anymore, guess i will have to take supplements.

To me it helps so much over quiting cold turkey. I remember the last time I tried cold turkey, I ate 4 bologna sandwiches in one afternoon. It was like every hour I had to get up and run to the kitchen.I could not deal with the oral fixation part of it. I still run to the kitchen every hour, but now its to refill my little clearos. And it most definetly helps with my late night after dinner sweet cravings. I rarely touch that chocolate ice cream in the freezer. Subsequenty, my Hubby is getting chubby. More for him.:p

All about mind of matter, simple as that.

Everyone should generally watch what they eat anyways, we switched from smoking to vaping due majorly to health concerns with analog-cigarettes, so why not care about other aspects of our health as well? I feel the hardest part of any commitment is the first 2 weeks...during the first two weeks you get temptations...you get doubts...you get different feelings ect ect.

Now that, of course, doesn't apply always to things like relationships ect...but you guys get what i mean ;)

Actually I am not sure the flavor matters so much. I have lost weight but I really think it is because I vape instead of snicky snacking all day. Add in the increase water consumption to the equation too.

Agreed. There are many reasons why quitting smoking leads to weight gain, and why vaping helps to avoid those conditions. Although I will say that I am a vaper who enjoys fruit flavors and they do seem to help with the "snacking" urge to some degree.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, I've lost a few pounds since quitting the stinkies.

I only ever vape fruit, dessert, sweet or chocolate type juices.

Last night my Wife said she was going to the shop for an ice-cream fix for us. She came back with a tub of chocolate fudge brownie for me. Normally I would make it disappear in 10 minutes, chain vaped some choco/caramel instead, the ice-cream is still in the freezer :thumb:

I'm pretty new to this, so started off hunting for a perfect tobacco flavor and was really turned off by endless varieties of e-liquids. But just out of curiosity got two "yummy" flavors from halo (Belgian coca and cafe mocha). At first I wasn't all that impressed, but then.. well...amazing... i wasn't craving cigarettes OR the dessert or coffee at ridiculous night hour. It was like killing two birds with one stone.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I can see how these flavors can curb the craving for certain foods. Works for me anyway. I'm actually pretty surprised, but I like it :)

I too have tried many times to quit smoking analog cigs in the past and packed on at least 5 lbs. But since I've switched to vaping, about 7 months ago I haven't gained anything, in fact I've lost weight! I think in my case, it also has something to do with vaping sweet flavors. Instead of hitting up my freezer late at night for a frozen treat, I vape my sweet tooth away! :vapor:

Yep, I confess, I'm vaping a lot of different flavors to stop me from snacking... it's a really great idea because it doesn't really hit the tongue in the same way... I taste all of the flavors in the back of my throat, and I don't salivate any more than usual (at least... not much more...) when I'm vaping.

I love the flavors of things. I don't really want to fill my stomach. Perfect solution!

I am trying to keep my nicotine content low as long as I'm vaping with this goal, though. 0% is preferred, though I have a few sample JC juices that don't come that low.

Don't want to skip food just to take in too much nicotine... one hurdle at a time. So, if I'm vaping nic, I'll make sure it's not a major foodie flavor... and if it's a foodie flavor, it's 0%, just in case I end up chain vaping it.
