There Is a USB lead with my eLeaf istick..

I doubt that others are so dumb as to miss the USB lead. The istick has been supplied in a variety of retail packaging, some with mains charger and some not, some with USB lead and some not etc.
Yeah, I realise that it is unlikely that people would have missed it but if you see the packaging it is just possible that someone could dump the box and not realise that there is a narrow second layer containing the lead and leaflet. Was only trying to be helpful. Even the site where I bought the thing state that you get no lead or manual.
I got one with mine. And today my MVP 2 arrived in the vape mail and that's got one with it too, so now I have two. One for indoors and one for the car - result!

I can see your point as they put the lead in a box under a piece of cardboard in the box.
If you ordered one with a lead most would go fishing around the box and find it but some stores do just sell the unit on its own.
Some say istick battery meaning just the unit and others say istick kit.

generally if an item charges through a usb port the cable should
come as part of the unit. the charger is built into the unit and
should have the cord to go with it.
it common practice vendors remove accessories for resale
which i believe is happening here.

It depends on what version of packaging one buys. Some get the simple packaging that only includes the eGo adapter. The full kit also includes a USB cord and a wall adapter, which is what I bought from IndyVaporShop.
Also, I notice that you didn't mention that yours included a wall adapter. You have the Full Kit packaging, so you should have one in the box. If not, you are being shorted by your vendor, or they forget to put it in at the factory.
Your right spaceballsrules and now i think about it i have seen three options for sale - Just the istick , istick plus usb cord , istick plus usb cord plus outlet adapter.
I have two one with the usb cord and one with the cord plus the outlet adapter , both came with the ego adapter

I think there are four different kits.
iStick only
iStick with adapter
iStick with adapter and cable
iStick with adapter, cable and wall charger
I've received the latter two but the wall charger was for EU, not UK.

your probably right.
any other consumer item i have seen that uses a usb port for
charging seems to at least have the cord with the item.
wall ports and other accessories could be in different combo's.
does the i stick need a separate charger or can charge right off

Mine did not come with a USB charger on any 3 of my isticks, but I don't care as I have a ton. I bought a bundle pack on ebay and I am set for life. They are extremely cheap.
You don't need a wall adapter. You can plug the USB cable into any available USB port if you like. You can also use just about any USB wall adapter, such as the one that came with your phone or tablet.
With that said, I am always wary of charging from a USB port on any of my computers. I may just be paranoid, but I would rather not risk a piece of hardware that costs $400-2000 to charge a $40 ecig. I look for at least a USB hub plugged into the wall or better.
Same here, no way am I risking anything happening to my macbook pro just to charge a $35 mod.
Mine came in a box with leaflet, 501 to dual 501/ego adaptor and boxed USB lead. There's not really space in there for anything else so no charger. The box itself does list the contents i got but no mention of a PSU/ charger. Possibly yet another variation in packaging! I have about twelve USB 5v wall PSUs already so no biggie.

I was an electronic engineer for twenty years. The istick draws very low current when charging, even when you use the passthrough feature and charge while you vape as the output current is only ever drawn from the internal battery and not the charging PSU or USB port, thus if you vape a fully charged istick enough whilst the power is connected it will eventually revert back to the actively charging icon until the batt voltage comes up to the fully charged threshold. Computer USB ports are 100% safe for charging the istick (and other similarly-charging devices). USB ports also have some short circuit protection so even if the istick blew up during charging (unheard of) and dead-shorted the power rails of the port you should be ok. If you are unsure then do not charge an ecig from a USB port on a valuable device. Electronic devices these days sometimes still require some electronic knowledge to be used safely, unfortunately.
