I am concerned. I recently jumped onto the M40X bandwagon and don't get me wrong. These little things are tiny fog machines. However, these batteries go off at the drop of a pin!!!

Are there any manufacturers that make autos with vacuum switches instead of the microphone type? I really don't like manuals.

I CAN'T see myself going out to the blues club with these. :glare:

Loud clubs and concerts... you may want some manual batts for those type of settings.

I started with the m40X's. I definitely prefer the autos to the manuals in that small analog cig like form factor, especially the super-super-mini 403. But with larger heavier batts/devices I definitely prefer the manuals. The frequent recharging pushed me to get bigger power supplies. The less cigarette like it is the more I prefer the manual button. Even with the size and weight of a std 510 batt, i like the button. The 401 is borderline for me, it feels a little heavy for hands free auto. But i really like the auto on the 402 and 403.
