I've learned that:
vaping is much tastier and more convenient than smoking.
My 808 starter kit is drastically cheaper than smoking(even after buying 10 more cartos, a 10ml bottle of juice, and several tanks.
Cartomizers can't hold a candle to clearos/tanks. In taste, ease of use, and maintenance.
Not all clearomizers/tanks are created equal. Kanger M3's are where it's at. Seriously.
If it wasn't for ecf I would have spent a lot of money on things I wouldn't have liked and quite possibly would have given up on e cigs or stuck with blu disposables at 7$ a pop.

So Calif
Most of the people I've known over the years smoked. Generational thing, maybe, I'm 72, and I was raised in Illinois. Everybody smoked. Most of them, including me, started with a brand and stuck with it forever.

Vaping is a whole other thing. I'm coming up on my 2 yr vaperversary 24 Feb and I'm still smitten by all the gear. Sorta like OH SHINY !! Oh look at that !! Like a kid in a toy store with my gear. Vape gear is fun and pretty and sturdy and shiny and lots of fun to fuss with, IMHO. Cigarettes, by comparison, are really blah. And they stink.

These are some of the things I’ve learned about vapeing.

5 seconds after I hit the confirm order button I remember I also needed something else.

with in 1 hour of me ordering a new must have best of the best mod, some vender will post a picture of something newer, better, and shine that I now really want.

Batteries in my van are like socks in a dryer...I place two on the seat and by the end of the day I can only find one.

Any time I say, “I got enough battery life” to go to and get home from any place, I don’t.

bills make it to my mail box a lot faster than anything I order.

It is hard to convince my wife that I'm saving money by vapeing, when I keep getting priority mail packages almost every day.

On a more serious and possibly helpful note: don't freak out about that headache you just got. Yes, it might mean that the nic level of your juice is too high (or low). On the other hand it might just mean you just need to put the PV down and drink a big glass of water.

Or, as was my case, you need to put the PV down, drink a big glass of water, and eat something. Apparently I'm now even more sensitive to changes in my blood sugar...

This!

Also - just because a juice sounds "yummy" doesn't mean I will enjoy it. The best flavors for me to vape have been ones I'd NEVER eat. Like orange peel.

Oh yeah - and when I was a teenager and started smoking (almost ten years ago now, too!) I can't believe I thought I could mask the smell with some chewing gum and hand sanitizer. I STILL find clothes in boxes (I haven't fully unpacked in two years, but I've been in my apartment for almost ten months now /lazy) that reek of cigarettes.

I've learned about ohms, resistance, watts and volts. And the difference between protected and unprotected batteries and their applications relative to vaping. A little more knowledgable about charging and discharging protocols...it's better to top them off frequently than discharging all the way and smart charger will prevent overcharging. I've learned that I know only just the barest minimum about the workings and relationships in the electrical/ battery world. But I was completely uninformed before. I thought resistance was the airiness or nonairiness of taking a drag. I must have skipped those classes in school.

After being introduced to vaping last year as a viable alternative to analogs, I've come to an understanding that:

1. Juices are purely subjective. There's such a thing with PG/VG ratios and how they affect the overall experience. In my experience, juices with higher PG give you a stronger throat hit and less thick vapor while a higher VG amount is vice versa and burns out your coil faster (with a non-variable voltage battery).

2. Steeping is sometimes necessary. How this is done is subjective too as it can either enhance the flavor or destroy it completely.

3. Not all atomizers/clearomizers/tanks are created equally. For example, screwing a stardust/CE4 onto a battery too tightly can cause the flat top/connection to sink down further. When that happens, there's a possibility that new cartomizers won't work, eg: Kanger T3's. Also, minute defects can also prevent your carto from working properly as well as inappropriately filling the tank with juice.

4. Do your homework first and learn from trial and error. There's a difference between an ego and 510 type connectors. Going back to the issue of depressed heads, I had to go out and get myself another ego/510 extender to make a T3 fit into a standard (riva 510) battery. Coil resistances are also something you should also keep track of. Its all very technical.

Lurking is good. Asking questions is even better. That's the point of ECF right?

Thanks for the advice!

I've learned that I let something I hated dictate so many factors of my life. I have learned that there is no limit to how much I can learn. I have learned that I am so not alone in my journey.

I already had a crazy insane sense of smell. Now it's so powerful I need to be hired as a juice sniffer. I have learned that most people get juice on their noses trying to smell flavors when I can smell them from across the table.

I have learned my boyfriend has freakin' horrible taste in vape. He has learned he can fill the cab of my little hatch in a few puffs with his modified tank and his Vamo. He has learned the best time to do this is right when the light turns green. Haha.
