Fudgey My kids make it worse! At least with this, I only have to rinse the dishes off before putting them into the dishwasher! With them, I have to wash the dishes AFTER they have been washed, so I kicked them out of the kitchen!
Seriously. I keep a plastic cooking spoon within easy reach to threaten anyone who dares to enter my domain. My grandmother used to do the same thing, but with a wooden spoon, so I /think/ that is where I learned it from!

I am so the opposite Deb. anyone who wants to cook or clean in my kitchen is absolutely welcome to do so 
They never got to load the dishwasher but they knew not to just put dishes in the sink with food still on them and they must be rinsed off too!!
The spoon thing is funny
So did my grandmother! One year for Christmas my aunts got together had had a little metal plate put on it and had the plate engraved -- "Matriarch's Pin of Disapproval"! She thought it was hilarious! (This is the same woman that embroidered a hoop that had a hen, a rooster, and a henhouse on cloth with lettering that read 'He may rule the roost, but she rules the rooster!')
I always tell my hubs he can be the head of the household but I am the neck.The head doesnt make a move without the neck.
