Homeish now
I Dated and Married a perfectly capable man.
He cooked, he cleaned, he did his own laundry, 100% self reliant.
When we moved in together...he helped clean, shared cooking nights, ect........ everything was pretty well split( I helped with the "male" chores too btw)

Three years into the marriage now.....he's broken.

I'm not sure at what point he went back to the default setting....but I realized the other day. I cant remember the last time he cooked or cleaned anything

Your hubby knew how to cook, clean and pick up after himself. What planet did you find him on???

My hubby would put his dirty clothes in front of the hamper instead of in it. Sooooo I deceided to break this habit. Anything that didn't go into the hamper went into the frezzer. In a double sealed plastic bag.

I agree if he is still under warranty send him back to momma.
Unless your MIL is like mine and would keep him forever:blink:
But then again she is totally weird.

I broke the laundry issue - he used to drop his socks, underwear, etc on the bedroom floor and put his dirty shirt on the bedroom doorknob - I told him - if it's not in the basket it doesn't get washed - he didn't believe me - and I didn't wash anything not in the basket - he was doing laundry at midnight and had to be at work by 4 am - problem solved!

I got my model too young and also spoiled by his mamma. He had no clue how to do anything domestic. He learned early and was great when our kids where born helping and all. Now that they're almost grown, he's regressed into not doing anything anymore. Gotta figure out a new approach...................maybe dangle a beer on a stick guiding him thru the stuff that needs done.

Beer is a good motivator. My hubby has been doing his fair share in the last few weeks. Since he doesn't have a job at the moment, he has been doing laundry, I do have to remind him that towels are not supposed to be washed with shirts. He has been mowing the yard and emptying the dishwasher. However he does not cook, hasn't much since my daughter told him he wasn't allowed to cook chicken fried steak anymore, he didn't dip it in egg then flour just the flour.

Mine would never attempt to make chicken fried steak! He can cook food in the microwave but anything he cooks on the stove will only be eaten by him. He comes up with "recipes" with ramon noodles............YUCK!

Don't get me wrong. When I put his clothes in the frezzer they were not clean. Thats why I doubled bagged them.:toast:
He too had to do laundry to go to work. It worked! He did start to pull that real heavy top up off the hamper and put his dirty clothes in.

I don't know if this was being a bad mom, but I started making my kids do their own laundry at about 13 yrs old, even my son.

Was that bad???

The only time I can recal my husband cooking dinner is when he caught a big fish and cooked it himself. The veggies were not so good. He took green beans out of a can and added the worms he had left over from fishing.:blink:

He did this as a joke for the kids. He thaught it was funny, even though we didn't. Men are soooooooo strange!

Ladies, ladies, ladies! Geeze! I quit doing all the housework! He helps or has to shovel the mess. I cook most of the time, but he cooks when I don't feel good.
Mike was raised by his dad and never saw anything wrong with housework. He also never saw anything wrong with women working in the yard! Drat!

Years ago Mike used to make up rules in his big book of rules (not real of course) But when my ex son in law called to ask if he really had to clean up behind my daughter when she was trimming the hedges and trees..Mike said YES! It was in the big book that she clops and you clean up! SIL hung up and Mike laughed for an hour. See Mike has a scorched earth mentality and I never let him trim..he tends to scalp the shrubs.
