Hi Folks,
I've been vaping for a year next month and have gone through the usual pattern of upgrading my gear; starting with a "commercial" e-lite with the ridiculously overpriced pre-filled carto's, then onto a 510, an ego, a passthrough etc etc. I have read these forums extensively and have a pretty good idea of what's what but I'm now looking into mods and plan to place my order tomorrow morning for a box mod. I just need to put a concerns to rest before I do.

I have read horror stories of batteries exploding in peoples faces and such with mods, on this very forum in fact. The general consensus was that they were using the batteries incorrectly and should have educated themselves more on their use. Does anyone know of anything that I should read to stop myself becoming the next example of "how not to vape"?

I will be using the 14500 (AA) batteries for the box mod and have heard good things about the trustfire brand. Does anyone have any experience with them and their chargers?

I realize that it will vary from vendor to vendor (and potentially from mod to mod) but how durable are box mods? The last thing I want is to find that a wire breaks the day after I get it, leaving me high and dry!

The final concern I have revolves around direct dripping. I have recently started doing this and find that it gives a hit like no other but I have been doing so on a manual ego battery, which is closed off. Is it safe to do so on a box mod or will I end up with a battery caked in eliquid? If so I'll need to order a couple of vision nano tanks.

Thanks for your time!

You didn't mention what box mod you were looking into. I have only owned one and that was a Rio Grand. If dripping is what your after then a box mod is probably a good next step. The Rio's have no wires so you don't have to worry about them coming off. You can even wash them all the way which I really liked. It really is beautifully simple. If you haven't already you should check out the Rio's on you tube. Geek girl vaper does some wonderful reviews. Good luck and happy vaping.

Hello and Welcome to ECF Pibie,

Have a look at Marco Van Bastens (UK) clip on making a Box Mod, you can get your bits & pieces from StealthVape.co.uk - Liberty-Flights.co.uk - Cloud9Vaping.co.uk - have a look at Chrissies Forum AAEC for up to date Discount Codes and List of all our Vendors in the UK.

If you just want to try a box mod for opening up and fiddling with try VapourHuts Warlord 3.7 mod for £13.99 a nice little box mod and not all is lost when you tinker with it just to see how it works.;)
