I have been debating trying e-cigs for a while now. I have been interested by the Jaunty EGO.

However, my main question is with e-liquid and back up parts. How in the world do I know what liquid will work for me? Is it simply trial and error? I would prefer a pretty standard natural tobacco flavor if possible.

Concerning back up parts. With the EGO starter pack, should I be ordering anything else besides some e-liquid or will I be set?

Thank you very much for your help. It is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to ECF and the vaping world.

Go for it, you won't regret it.

Pretty much, yes.
But advice is to look for a vendor with sampler packs, so you can get several different flavors. And also several different nic levels. From say 12 to 24 MG.
No one can really tell you what will work for you.

But you can plan on about 3ML of juice a day, that should help you decide how much to get.

should I be ordering anything else besides some e-liquid or will I be set?

You should probably get a couple extra atomizers.
They are considered comsumables, and will invariably go bad.
They are cheap, and on average you can get at least a months use out of one.
for about 8 bucks, that's not bad.

Ego is a great choice, very hard to find anyone here that doesn't like it.

Get a drip tip... don't wait 5 months like I did and waste all the money on cartomizers and cartos... you might want to try cartomizers too... but...

There is no way to know what liquid you will like.

I was incredibly LUCKY...

After reading the boards for a while. I started noticing what most people liked... and raved about and I tried it.

For sweet stuff, many people rave about Tasty Vapor, Vapor Bomb and Ms. T's...

For Tobacco, many people rave about Halo, backwoods brew, vapor station, freedomsmokesusa,

For Menthol? I am lost... Halo mostly.

I am not much of a sweets vaper... keep in mind...
For clean, delicious juices and great service... I rave about Backwoods Brew, Halo, Alien Visions (VG), Vaperite, vaporbomb, freedomsmokesusa...
Recently I am digging Bombdrop Vapor's Montana Cut.

The eGo is a great first choice BTW

Thanks for the response. So much information to process before making a purchase. I have no clue what a proper nic level for me would be. I smoke a pack a day.

Thanks for the 3ML ratio of usage, that definitely helps. I have to go to work, but I will be running some numbers when I get home to see how much I will be saving on a month/yearly basis.

Do you folks generally quit smoking analogs once going the e-cig route? Do you find it easier to put down the e-cig and just not have nicotine at all?

Thanks again!

Dripping and Drip tips...

The most basic challenge that ALL ecigs have, is getting the liquid to the atomizer in an efficient manner.

That's where the cartridges come in.
They have a filler material (usually a cotton like material called polyfill).
That acts like a sponge and holds the liquid.
You put the cartridge on the atomizer, and that Bridge of the atty comes into contact with the filler material (sponge).
This creates a "Wicking" action that sucks the liquid from the cartridge to the atomizer.

This process is the biggest challenge of all ecigs. Some do it better than others.

Many people prefer to bypass this problem all together by dripping.

Basically remove the filler material from the cartridge.
Your cartridge is now empty (or blank)
Drip liquid directly onto the atomizer
put the blank cartrdige back on and vape.

Repeat when vapor production and/or flavor decreases.

This is what a Drip tip is for.
It's a hollow tip with a big hole so you can drip liquid right through your mouthpiece.
Instead of having to remove a blank cartridge, drip, replace blank cartridge.

Hope that helps..
I know, that was clear as mud right?

I'd give myself time on drip tips & other "advanced" accessories. It isn't as though you're locked into carts once you start using them. (They're a way to drip liquid right on to the atomizer, without using the filler material in a cart.)

As far as what to get, unless you're rolling in money I'd heavily advise one full starter kit (2 batteries + 2 atomizers) and a decent amount of liquid (or carts, but refilling carts isn't difficult). With the eGo, as long as you get a good quality one (Joye or Janty brand), you probably won't need to worry about replacing your batteries or atomizers for a decent amount of time; at least long enough to try it out and see if e-cigs really work for you before ordering more.

I've had a good experience so far with Cignot as far as suppliers go, but any place selling genuine Joye / Janty brand products is a good call.

As far as liquid, the general consensus seems to be that everyone wants a genuine tobacco flavor when they start, but most quickly change their mind. I'd go for a decent mix of tobacco & other flavors to start.

Don't worry too much about carts vs. cartomizers vs. drip vs. dip. Just see if the general idea of using an e-cig works for you, and if it does, then you can poke around these forums a bit and see what steps to take next.
