mmmm... that looks awesome. Shrimp is one of the few seafoods I will eat. But, this is what I got.

Yea, not real appetizing. As a matter of fact, it's a little tough to find the shrimp in there. I dug around a bit, and I think there were three miniaturized shrimp in that mess. It was hard to tell. Very disgusting. And at $2.65 each, I just have to laugh. Good thing I only bought 1.

Wow Bob...I don't think that even someone who is allergic to shrimp could find any in there...damn them taco people...

See, THAT kind of CRAP should be illegal. Grrr. Somebody should take the
ad picture with them when buying one. Then refuse to leave the premises
until a reasonable facsimile has been served. Call the local news crews and
papers.

I have seen similar discrepancies when comparing television representations
of chain non-fast-food dinner entrees and what is actually set before me.

However, your experience is EXTREME! Why does it tick me off so badly?!
There are more important problems in the world, but THAT is just wrong.

Glad I saw this, I was tempted to try the shrimp taco, I love shrimp... I wouldn't leave what I was doing to go get one (Like the guy in the commercial) but I was going to try one next time I went to taco bell... probably wont try it now.. I love the flavor of their food but it always saddens me when I actually get the food.

Honestly I'd say never trust any mexican fast food establishment to make a good fish/shrimp taco. They always use the smallest shrimp possible and so few of them that it is more like a lettuce taco with shrimp. You may be able to get a good one at baja fresh or Chipotle (if you have them in your area)

Good stuff I order at taco bell (worth the money imo):
7 layer burrito
chicken quesadilla w/guacamole
tostadas are alright

LOL! Your reactions are just as funny as mine. I actually expected this. Obviously, the actual product vs what you receive are going to be quite different. Simply because I couldn't get my taco to pose for the photo.

I understand what cappuccina said about 'food stylists' and whatnot. You couldn't take my photos and put them into a TV commercial and expect anyone to flock to Taco Bell to buy one. But the difference in this taco was pretty extreme.

I dislike most fast food restaurants for various reasons, this being one of them. The exception being Arby's. Go buy a giant roast beef and see what you get. Basically a giant pile of roast beef. Awesome. lol....

Anyway, I'm kind of glad it worked out that way, I don't need a reason to like a fast food restaurant. Why my kids like Taco Bell at all just baffles me.

I haven't tried the shrimp taco, actually I hadn't even heard about it. After seeing this post, I don't see me ordering one. I generally like the Bell though. Not like a good sit down restaurant, but it IS fast food after all. Beats the average cheeseburger.

But, all fast food joints do a couple irksome things:
A) Introduce a new item - first time I order it, it's great! - Subsequent orders, QC has plummeted and it is reminiscent of the 2nd shrimp taco photo.
B) Introduce a new item, I like it enough to make it a perennial favorite, but it is only offered for a limited time. What's the logic in that??

Reminds me of that scene from that Michael Douglas movie "FALLING DOWN". He walks into a burger place and orders and when the real burger looks nothing like the photo he pulls out an uzzi. Best line in the scene... "Have you ever heard the saying that the customer is always right." And the manager responds, "That's not our company policy."

The uzzi had a better effect. Great movie.

Only speaking for myself: I wouldn't return for a refund. Not worth the hassle. I'm not sure I'd have gone so far as taking pictures and posting it on a forum either. But, you can rest assured, I would tell friends about it. Word of mouth is very powerful, whether positive or negative.

Thats not something to throw me off from good ol' Taco Bell. MMMMmmm, I would eat that crap everyday if it wasnt fast food and so bad for you. Im here in AZ where Mexican food reins supreme, and yet, I still like Taco Bell more than most. I guess im just sick in the head. But none the less, they ripped you off good on that one.

I used to work as a Drive-thru cashier at Taco Bell. I went ahead and tried the shrimp taco and it has got to be the single worst item on the menu.

I dislike anything from Taco Hell now, because they would not let me bring my lunch. Working a 10 hour shift I would get very hungry... and I had no choice other than to eat that foul disgrace to mexican food. Especially seeing how the food was processed and handled made me cringe at the thought of even eating it.

I have one strong word of advice for all of you Taco Hell goers: Do not eat the Chili Cheese Burrito :)

I'm the same way. It probably ticks you off so badly because it's blatant, flagrant BS and that type of advertising is considered completely normal. Granted companies want their product (whatever it may be) to look appealing but c'mon there's gotta be a line somewhere.

What's funny is that I mentioned this to another friend of mine, and he said he liked them. He bought them at a different Taco Bell tho. A few weeks back, I decided to stop ordering the Fruitista Freezes for the kids, since they were way too expensive, and they stopped filling the cups up all the way. So, I would just stop and pick up a 2 liter of Coke for them, and they're more than happy with that. Maybe the owners of this particular Taco Bell are nuts.
