Looks like a lot of experience in this thread, so I'll ask a question that can help the originator of the thread and hopefully me as well.

I gave away an iTaste vv v3 yesterday to a friend to get her started and off of analogs. I had 2 of them and an MVP. Liked the small size and weight of the VV but the battery life sucked. The MVP battery is awesome but kind of heavy and the corners dig in my hand when I use it a lot. I am considering another MVP even with the sharp corners, but then started looking at the VTR. Does anyone know how the weight compares VTR/MVP? Lake Michigan salmon are calling :) and it looks like an Aerotank protected in that VTR side pocket might be the ticket for days on the water. So weight would be my biggest concern.

Comments and suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Depends on what you want out of a mod.
Dependability, durability and a clean signal-(output frequency)-you can't beat a provari.
I have run mine over with the car twice, dropped it in a toulet, dropped it off my deck 17ft in the air and it still works like new.
MVP is probably the best mod available with a static battery. Clean signal; not as clean as provari but close and it's very durable. If you've had a vvv3 than you've had an MVP with a smaller battery.
If you want high power a vapor-shark is probably one of the more affordable dna devices. Although personally I prefer the sx350 chip; in which case, I can't help you much other than BC mods; there aren't a whole lot of the sx350 mods on the market right now. The sx330 (another chip) maxes out at 50 watts and the ipv50 can be found around the web.
All in all MY PREFERENCE for vv mods is the provari. I don't drip often enough to warrant the DNA or Hightower device. My daily runner is my provari or mini provari, and, my backup is my MVP. Most people I'm the land of VV have said the best combo around is the provari with a kayfun. For all say usage it simply gets no better than that; and, you can't kill them no matter his hard you try. Even my buddies that are hardcore droppers and wattage users keep one in there inventory, because, they know if all else fails that won't. At the same time it's bit for everyone, yes you can drip; but, you can't subohm. That's why I have mechs.

Provari is expensive but very very nice. I'd wait until the new model hits later this year so if I were on the market right now I'd sit tight with an mvp.

I like to vape around .8 ohms to 1.4 ohms so a lot of these newer devices don't intrigue me to be honest.

A lot of people are waiting; only thing is there isn't much reason to. The new model is not going to replace the current one. They've said that the "P3," as it's being referred to is going to be a totally separate product line and the current model will continue to be supported and manufactured.
Of course they are being rather tight lipped in what the new one would be.
That said, nothing wrong with waiting and using the MVP in the interim, the MVP is a heart unit. And in my opinion, there isn't much I'm a fan of I the price bracket between the MVP and provari. Both are built great and have a terrific service record. The DNAs and SX mods that i like are more expensive than the provari.
- I focus on build quality and durability and the output signal.
- I'm super tough on my mods so if they don't like to be dropped its a deal breaker for me.

Yeah I'm learning the don't buy it if it can't be dropped rule.

Lol!!! That's an expensive rule to learn.
And consequently the reason I bought a provari. As much as it's been through it's paid for itself several times over. I figure, I have mechs, I have high power, now I have one that can literally stand up to any kind of punishment I can throw. I play with all the toys and fun stuff at home or a vape meet and what not and use that one as my workhorse.

To me, this is good news regarding the new Provari. Mine died recently and I'm ordering a new one next week. Mine is in need of both upgrade and repair so I figure I might as well just buy a new one.

As stated above, they're built like coffin nails. Tough as all hell. What killed mine was my own doing, I had a bad o-ring on a carto tank, and while putting the tank on my Provari, the bottom end cap came completely loose from the actual tank, liquid went everywhere, including inside my Provari and shorted out the board in it.

But the reason I'm enjoying the idea of the P3 being more of a new product line rather than an upgrade, is because I've HEARD ... keyword there is HEARD... don't hold me to this, that the new Provari will also offer VW.

Now that's great and all, but I used my Provari with a number of different tanks for two years and didn't need VW. I love the single button menu system it has, and I'm curious what kind of changes that system would have to undergo if the new version does in fact offer VW.

Anyway, THAT is why I'm glad to hear the p3 isn't going to actually be replacing the older model...

You know they can just replace the board for 65 bucks right?
That's one of my favorite things about provari and something you rarely hear anyone talk about.
In the rare event that it does break. Fixing it doesn't cost a whole lot.
The business side of my brain says the6 don't have a choice but to offer VW. So many people prefer it. I would like to see then offer more power, granted I rarely if at all vapor above 10.5W; it's just not my thing. On the provari I'm normally at 1.4 ohm and 3.7-4.2V depending on juice.
In any event this is a list of what Provape charges for out of warranty repairs. -Not bad considering you can take a totally dead tube and for 65 bucks have a whole new board out in and it's as good as new. That was one of the main reasons I wanted one. After getting it..... Well you know.

Replace Window and screws- $10.00
Replace Circuit Board - $65.00
Upgrade to V2 - $20.00
Replace plastic pushbutton - $5.00
Repairs to the circuit board - $25.00
Cleaning - $20.00
Replace top cap - $15.00
Broken Cartomizer Service - $10.00

As for the P3, I'm sure you've seen the threads, all of us just speculating what it'll be, we don't know; but, yeah it'll probably be a VB/VW device. How powerful, who knows. I can't wait to see what it is. I have this terrible case of shinyitis, and I keep waiting to see what this will be so I can try and cure it:
