Hell all, I have recently read up on the Chuck and have been contemplating getting one myself. It seems that everyone that has one has great reviews for it, and I was just wondering a few things. 1st Should I or do I have to buy a high volt atty, if so where do i get them? 2nd do I or should I purchase high voltage e-juice? (I have no idea what it is or why its better) and if so where do I go about purchasing that.

Find some in depth reviews by someone who has had theirs a while; at least a month if not more. For me a mod is like a girlfriend, you can only get to know them after you lived with them for a while.

And, I think a couple of people are selling chucks on the classifieds. PM them if you can find them and ask why they're selling them.

Good luck!

Also if you want a chuck, unless you get it from the classifieds, you should expect to wait about a month or so for it to be made, they are in high demand. I ordered my little chuck 2/23 and still waiting for it to be "born" but I am very excited about getting one, they are supposed to be really good quality as far as workmanship and I like the fact that you can get custom graphics put on it, to personalize your PV. If you want high voltage (6v) then the big chuck is the one to get and yes you will need a HV atty. Otherwise, the regular atty works fine for the 3.7v. Most important of all USE GOOD PROTECTED BATTERIES AND CHARGER here is a link to a reputable battery company, the few extra dollars for the good ones are worth it, you don't want to have any batteries going boom in your chuck: AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery Good luck to you.

If you plan to order a supply of atomizers, I would suggest waiting and seeing how the Chuck performs at 3.7 volts and compare that to how it vapes at 6 volts. Reason being, the Chuck @ 3.7 volts works better than a stock battery, and uses up juice pretty quick.

And for what it's worth, I really like my Chuck. Batts last for 2 days easy. Switch them out once a day and never experience a dead battery.

You will need a HV atty if you are going to use your chuck at 6Volts....As far as the HV Juice, well i never used it so i cannot comment on that....I will tell you though all i use is HV mods 5&6 Volts exclusively.... And never once did i have to use HV Juice..... Hope that helps:)
Actually Rhino I have had my chuck since last September and have used only normal attys on it with no problems. Yes, they will burn out quicker at 6 volts but they still usually last me 3 or 4 weeks. I tried the HV attys and they were awful, you can't even use them for dripping. I gave them away after using one for a couple of hours.
I don't use HV juice either, just my DIY.

Why not? That's what I use with a T-tip and I do nothing but drip. I havn't used a cartridge with a HV atty ever. The one I have now is on day 17 and I use it exclusively all day every day. No HV juice though.

I have a few of the HV 510's and dont like to use them because I get so
much less vapor then a normal 510.
Unless your PV 6V true volts! you cut your vapor production in half by
using them.
Maybe these would work great on something like 7 or 8V!! ;)

How come you say they are awefull? Same reason as me? :D

Actually, I have a Chuck on order.
Its just a plain one, nothing fancy, no ingraving or anything.

Does it always take so long to get delivery?

I know its only one guy making them, but I hate waiting so long.
And he is not good at answering my emails
If he would at least answer and tell me how long the wait will be,
I would not mind, its just not knowing anything that bothers me.

Jeff's communication is "sparse" so I'll give you my estimate (which isn't worth much!).

Custom Chucks are currently running slightly over 30 days. Plain ones aren't really that much quicker (maybe a few days?). For plain ones though, I really think it depends upon the color and other orders. If he's painting a black one for a custom order and yours is a plain black one, he'd probably just go ahead and do them at the same time. Realistically though, I'd plan on ~30 to be born (on p0rn thread) then shipping time. Firgure 33-35 days from order to receipt. (and if it gets to you sooner than it'll be a pleasant suprise!)

You don't "need" HV juices or attys to use a Chuck or any other mod--they are simply accessories to help you enjoy the experience.

The advantage of going "HV" is that a mod runs at closer to 8-10W rather than the 3-4W you get with stock batteries. Above about the 10W mark, most people complain of a "burnt" taste but by using a high impedance atomizer, you can bring it back into the "sweet spot" of around 8W. Some people are satisfied with the 5W they get from using a long lasting 3.7V battery, but the new "big thing" is low impedance atomizers like the Magnum from Nhaler which can bring the effective power into the 8W range with standard 3.7V batteries.

As far as the HV liquid goes, it really is only Nhaler that markets a liquid specifically for "High Voltage", but you should understand that this is not a "HV Only" liquid but rather a specific formulation that Drew has created to meet the special "needs" of HV vaping: It is a thicker consistency so your atomizer doesn't dry out (and thus burn out) as quickly and has a relatively lower nicotine content to best balance the flavor and TH when vaped at higher power.

If you aren't ordering a custom Chuck, why not look for a used one in the Classifieds here or order a mod that is ready for immediate shipping? I love my Xhaler at 5V, and I'm looking forward to trying a Magnum atty on my DSE 905 Nomad I got from Madvapes to experience 8W vaping on a $40 mod. ;)

Yea Tuna, I had the same trouble. Less than half the vapor of a regular 510...and it flooded too easy also.

I own both a silver bullet, and a chuck.

The chuck has a horrible button than can cause it to fire in your pocket (has happened to me a few times)

The silver bullet has a VERY nice button that won't fire in your pocket.

The chuck is customizable while the SB only comes in black and silver.

ALSO, the SB is 85$ right now on altsmoke... Only 5$ more than the chuck.

Those are my 2 cents =P

EDIT: Didn't see that you were only debating on the atomizers... As for them, I don't like them... My atomizers last about a month a piece or more vaping at 6v, so 10$ a month? That's not bad at all for the benefits you get at 6v.

Thanks for your post :)

It hasnt been 30 days yet, so I guess I have no choice but wait :(

No matter, I have lots of other e-cig toys to play with in the mean time :)

I did get the good news that my Super 6 will be ready to mail out this
week! Yaaay! a new toy

LOL!! I have a habit of flooding my 510 attys.
On my Prodigy, it's not so noticible because the leaked juice goes into
a little round "ditch" that is cut into the adapter, so I cant really tell I
have leaked juice until I turn it up-side down and it drips down my hand!!

I am lazy and hate to keep dripping in juice, so I put as much as possible
in there and should know better.
On my Prodigy V2 using a 510 atty and VG juice, I know anything over 5
drops will leak.

I have not noticed that the HV 510's leaks any more or less than the
regular ones though, but like I said, I avoid using those.
