Thinking about getting a maraxus clone.

I really like the design of the mod. I either want a black and gold one or the copper one. Does anyone have one? I was wondering what the pros and cons of the mod are and whether or not there would be a difference in performance between copper and stainless steel.

The only complaint I have heard is the edges can be sharp and get caught in your pocket. I personally prefer slick mods, but I have heard great things about the maraxus.

I was thinking of doing a patina on it. I haven't see one done on a maraxus, and I figured it'd look pretty cool if some of the parts had a patina and some weren't. I just want something unique. It seems like everybody these days has a straight tube as a mod, and while some of them look very nice, I'm just not super partial to the looks of most of them.

I havn't really looked into Maraxus mods or clones of them but the copper one (if it isn't just a copper covering concealing a SS battery tube) would be more likely to have a lower voltage drop than the SS if all the contacts are properly maintained.

I have a Stainless/Gold and a Black/Gold. Love 'em, they are solid devices. My black one had voltage drop issues until I removed the plating on the threads. Be sure to read the reviews and discussion, assuming you're ordering from FT, because I know some have had some issues with the button assembly. I would imagine that the copper one would perform very well plus it looks fantastic.

I'm thinking you mean a Faux Patina. Hard to patina Plated and painted parts.

I enjoy my SS/Gold Maraxus at home. wouldn't even try pocket carrying it. Some users have complained of Hot switch issues with extreme low sub ohm loads.

Yeah, I think, if I'm not mistaken, they are plated. That's a no go for me.
