thinking about jumping into DIY

The Flavor Apprentice's prices aren't bad for PG/VG, better than most places selling e-cig stuff. Really though 1stopDIYshop is a better value for TFA themselves if you just want to try flavors.

TFA gives you 4ml in a glass vial with no dropper for $1.40. OSDIYS gives you 6ml in a plastic dropper for $1.35 after 10% code ECF which I think is permanent. The only problem is that TFA changes formulations over time, so you never know if OSDIYS has the newest. Though I never asked, I kind of doubt they toss what they have. This isn't an issue for most flavors though.

Some people find PG/VG at farm supply stores in gallons I think, but I haven't tried. There's other places I know like Essential Wholesale, but then you are going to get killed on $10 or more shipping if you aren't getting anything else.

I got some vg from a aromatherapy supplier it was fsa/bp grade and worked fine. I had to add 10% de ionised water to thin it for use it was so thick this is common. I have two types of pg one has a slight chemical bitter taste but this is not evident on smoking. The other I got as a comparison and it tastes slighty sweet but not chemically it smokes just the same can'T help you on suppliers as in englang but good luck mixing I like 80 percent vg 20 percent pg. The vg on its owm masks the taste a little and has a flavour of it own I hated it at first but now I have got used to It

Agree with sheryder...

Here are more details about the cheapest places to buy VG and PG (that will work fine for DIY e-liquid):

VG - Humco Glycerin USP is available at Walmart on the shelf above the isopropyl alcohol bottles in the pharmacy for $3 for six ounces.

PG - Tractor Supply sells gallon bottles of Propylene Glycerine USP for about $20. I would call your nearest TSC to find out which TSC has it in stock. I had to drive 30 miles to buy it, because not all TSCs have it in stock.

Correct, USP is USP. It should show nothing other than propylene glycol USP for ingredients. No TSC near me, so I bought 24 ounces from freedomsmokeUSA when I was picking something else up.

Note that a gallon is a lot. It does have decent shelf life if stored properly, but 128 ounces of PG, by the time you add nic juice and flavorings, will likely end up being 175 ounces or so of juice. If there's a TSC nearby, super, but otherwise a smaller quantity can be reasonable.

Correct, USP is USP.

Nitpicking here, but this is not exactly correct. The remaining solvents in the under 1% could differ by production methods. Also I was looking at USP's site and noticed that their PG guidelines were updated recently, like October, so whatever is being produced later has slightly different standards. Nonetheless, the Tractor Supply stuff ought to be fine as long as it is USP.

where would i be able to get a gallon of pg and/or vg that is known to be good, usp stuffs?

One Gallon of PG is approximately 3785ml. The real question is where are you going to find the 1895ml of 48mg nic juice, and the friends to vape that 5685ml of 12mg eJuice? :D

I mean I'm down if you want to start mixin and givin! :vapor:

What is fsa/bp and does it say USP on the can or bottle?

Never mind I you are from the UK.
