Hey everyone I currently use the ego-c atomisers and while each atty head works great for a few days i'm getting tired of the inevitable flat taste that comes after only 3 or 4 days. Every time i check to see why I see the wick is burnt to a crisp and there's gunk all over the coil. Is there a way to get them to last longer?

I'm thinking about just making the switch to one of those new Dual Coil tanks so I can just replace the cartomiser in the center when need be. I constantly use my PV so I'm hoping this is a good cost effective alternative to buying 5 ego-c atty heads every 3-4 weeks.

Any thoughts on the difference between the two or recommendations would be greatly appreciated :thumb:

Yeah I would say just get a DCT and be done with it. No need to fool around with any of these speciality eGo contraptions. A 3.5ml DCT with a straight cone will serve you well.

Is this the same replacement carto that's used for those? AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Dual Coil
I'm just wondering because this price is about $1.50 cheaper per replacement than what totally wicked has.

They're even cheaper at Hoosier's. The DCT should serve you well, but I would also try a 1.7 ohm single coil in the tank. I find that single coils work better on 3.7V than DCC. Hoosier and other places sell the single coil pre-punched.

Youngstown, I wonder if we're distantly related. I don't know where that aunt met the husband with that last name though.

If you search around there are many good eGo-C cleaning tips.
This whole thread is good but this is a close up of a good cleaning (I think he failed to prime so thought it didn't work at the point of the post) but getting some extra days without cleaning could be as simple as doing a dry burn.

When I started the first ego-ts had just come out. There were QC problems and they were persnickety as all get out. I'm the sort that likes to tinker. So, I could deal with that but, I did find that I liked cartos better than the tank. Later I found that I liked dripping better and nowadays I just use atomizers with some kind of feed system. Really the carto tanks are about the most convenient way to vape. That said, if you put a drip tip on a full carto and drip a few drops down the side every couple hours, it's not that bad. So, what I would recommend is trying a box of cartos as is. If you like them, then invest in the tank.

Sorry myk probably not because i'm not from here I've just been living here for the last few years for school. I think now that I've got some good insight I've decided to make the switch to the DCT and I will definitely try the 1.7ohm single coil. Thanks everyone. Also when i save up some money I am definitely going to buy a BB!

Good call. When I started I tried boge 2.0 cartos and the ego tank type bs. Flavor was always weak and I could never overcome the leaking issues with the ego tanks, despite getting the soft caps, moving the wick, etc. I've tried dual coil lr cartos, 1.7 ohm single coils, and boge 3.0 (don't buy these for use with your ego batts) ohm single coils since, and the boge 3.0s and 2.0s are still my favorites. The fill on the xl size cartos is just too loose, it falls apart rapidly. The vision tanks can be nice, but cinnamon eats through the coil. I'd suggest trying a variety before stocking up.
