I'm currently using several eGo-C Twists and I like them a lot. But I keep reading about how people upgrade and absolutely love it.

So I can buy just about any mod that I want but I don't want to spend a bunch of money. I have been researching the Vamo V2, Tesla, and iTaste. I'm leaning towards the Vamo V2 and Tesla.

But I started thinking...everyone claims this makes vaping better, taste better etc...but how can that be? I use Kanger T3's and a ProTank. I love the simplicity and ease of use but won't these on a Vamo or Tesla vape exactly the same as they do on my eGo Twist at 4.8v?

How will spending a bunch of money on one of these bigger mods make a difference in the vaping, tast etc...?????

I'd hate to spend the money and get the exact same experience I'm already getting with the twist.

Any input welcome as I'm planning to hit up my local vape lounge/store tonight.

Thanks!

I went straight from the eGo C (no twist) to the Vamo. That was a huge improvement. I like that I can increase my watts in small increments to fit my juice exactly. I also like that I can use the Vamo to check the actual ohms on my tanks ( huge variables from advertised ratings). I have indicators to show the actual battery level and that is nice. My favorite though is that I can throw a 18650 2200 mah battery in it and not worry about running out of battery before I get back to a charger.

Okay so if what my aim is; is to get more flavor out of my vaping....what should I do? Buy a differnt kind of tank? Because though I like my twist, I always wish the flavor was even better. But at the same time I'm not really interested in rebuilding tanks all the time. What would be my options?
Get more flavor shots in your juice.

From what I have read the Protank has been known to mute flavors. For some people this has been fixed by removing one of the wicks on top of the coil. But be aware that with thinner, higher PG juices it may cause leaking issues. I myself rewick and recoil my protanks and havent had any leaks or flavor muting issues. As for the 'upgrade', if youre looking for longer battery life, varriable wattage, or the ability to check the resistance of your delivery device, then get a mod otherwise you will be fine with what you have. Keep in mind when purchasing a mod, you still have to factor in the price of batteries and a charger...Happy Vaping!

Upgrading to mods may not affect increasing the flavor of your e-liquids, but it can allow for other options.

More options in juice delivery devices. Ego batteries have a very slim form factor, and most of the better delivery devices have a larger diameter. This is primarily an aesthetic issue, as you could put a large capacity cartotank on an eGo but it would look extremely top-heavy and easily tip over from the weight.

Ego battery with a large capacity pyrex cartotank.

Many vapors, myself included, believe you get better flavor from a cartotank. Your results may vary, but consider this. Clearo or ce4 devices only use a couple of small strings to wick juice to the atomizer. A cartomizer surrounds the atomizer with juice-soaked filler. Add that cartomizer in a tank and you'll be able to enjoy that great flavor all day long before needing to refill it.

More advanced vapors have moved on to RBA's, which may provide the best vaping experience (vapor production and flavor), but it's highly questionable that an eGo has the power in amp draw to sustain a rebuildable atomizer.

Dripping on an atomizer is also said to provide for a cleaner, pure flavor. No issues with wicking materials, just pure juice on an atomizer. But dripping can be inconvenient for many situations (while driving). For a more convenient form of dripping, you could use a bottom feeder box mod. You'd get the flavor of dripping, but the convenience of a tank.

Bottom feeder box mod.

I prefer mods because I believe they offer a better long term economic solution to vaping. An good eGo battery costs around $24 and will only last for some 250 charges, then the entire device needs to be replaced. A mod will cost more initially, but because it's better built and is more durable, it should last you years. It's replaceable batteries are cheaper to replace ($6 - $9) and last much longer (up to a year or more) than an eGo.

You only need to carry one mod for all day use. Some of them use batteries that will last a day or more; others use smaller batteries, but it is much simpler to carry a spare or two than to carry multiple eGo's or cigalikes everywhere you go.

I upgraded from the ego twist 1000mah (aka the Wand) to a vamo v2 and it's awesome. The build is solid, easy to read screen, and two sizes! i use the short 18350 batteries mode when venturing out to the bars, just to not completely freak out the locals. The 800mah only lasts for 3/4 of the protank before it needs charging. For home heavy useage I slip in the ol 18650 2250 mah and vape like a mad man

I still use my old twist protank setup at work due to the high technology breakage risk when farming. Using both I can tell a performance difference in the vamo. Due to the RMS mode it provides a better consistane vape IMHO, thou it makes a rattlesnake sound when firing. I thought it was loud when I first it (in a quiet room), but quickly got accustomed to the sound and it lets me know everything's working just fine.

Vamo v2 is great and for $80 can get the tube, couple of batteries and a charger. I would recommend picking up a carbon fiber Jwrap. It gives a little bit more grip and makes it look a little less uhhh.... phallic

I love my Provari and my RBA, but they are not easy nor portable. For this reason (even though I would buy her one if she wanted) my wife uses a eGo with a Kanger M-T3. And so do I - when if comes to something to take to work, it is just more convenient.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Zen-Atty and it is my best vape. But there are downsides as well.

Thanks for all the replies!

Okay so I took apart one of my ProTanks and removed one wick....WOW what a difference! Thanks for that bit of info!!

As for mod I decided to buy an iTaste. It seemed to be a good mod to keep at my desk. It so far is really nice. Cranking it up to 5v gives a very good hit!

My next venture will be into the mechanicals or at least rebuildables. But for now I have the nice little iTaste for at home and my eGo C Twists for on the road and work.

/update: Wow! Running the iTaste at 5v with my protank minus one wick is amazing. I have never tasted this much flavor out of any vaping device I have tried. The amount of flavor is insane. I'm so glad I bought this iTaste! Running it at 4.8v like my twist is good but when I turn it up to 5v its like a whole other beast!!
