Thinking about upgrading

I've been vaping for about 3 months now after 21 years of smoking. I enjoy it but still seem to be looking for something better. I started with a 510 kit with regular cartos and quickly upgraded to mega manual batteries and then CE2 cartos.

I find myself eyeballing these fat battery PVs such as the Ego and I wonder........ how much more flavor/TH/vapor can I get out of one of those? Is it worth it? Also what ohm CE2s should I use with them? Thanks.

Hi Clinton, I recently upgraded to the Go-Go and I love it. But, I can't compare it to the 510 as I haven't used that. As a relative newcomer I can say that there are so many choices for upgrades it's very confusing and there will be staunch advocates for may types. Of course after I got the Go-Go I've read about all kinds of other and newer PVs that sound great too. I see profile pics where people have a whole arsenal of them and get PV-envy but it's already adding up quickly so have to draw the line somewhere. Good luck!

Other than run time in between charges the 510 and the Ego will have the same performance. Some Rivas are true 3.7 batteries which will help but not really a mind blowing difference. You can use lower ohms with the fat batts than you can with the 510 to simulate hv vaping which is a significant difference.

fat batts are pretty cheap and you already have 510 equip which is compatible with it so I'd say pick up a batt and a lower ohm 2.0 carto/atty and check it out. You can use the 510 charger with it but it'll take longer to charge than using a Riva/Ego charger. Or just get a Riva Kit from Liberty Flights which has great deals on them after the discount.

Slim 510's should use things attys/cartos 2.5 ohms or higher and not use the fast charger of Ego or Riva 510 (either can damage a slim battery)

The fat battery models like Ego and Riva 510 are over 450mah (actually 650mah+) and can definitely use LR down to 2.0 ohms. Some people will go lower to 1.7ohms for some atomizers. Some people will go all the way to 1.5 ohms, others will not go that low except on a mod, where the industrial-type batteries come out to be charged in a separate charger and any damage can be seen.

If you have any interest in a clone, the Riva 510's at Liberty-Flights.com are slightly higher voltage than Ego. Liberty sells a ton of them so they have the latest model. Under $30 for the Lite Bundle of 2 750mah Rivas if you first press the 20% off (upper left front page). Riva 510 is the most popular Ego clone.

If you have a need for batteries that can be disabled (to put in your pocket) then consider the Ego-T (many people have issues with the tanks but you can get normal atomizers and cartomizers for it). I believe the real Joye Ego-T batteries can be disabled with 5 clicks.

Gotvapes is waiting on a 5-click 3-stage "variable" Egos and batteries (probably clones - and they are new, so no info on reliability). They do 3.2, 3.7 and 4.2 volts

And there are inexpensive 510-threaded box mods (some made by forum members like Silent Soldier and others, some at boxmods.net, and Madvapes sells kits to make your own) - these usually have an on/off switch. The startup cost includes buying batteries and a charger, but after that batteries are about $5-7 apiece.

Dont waste anymore time or money, go with the best and save some headache, Reogrand from reosmods.com is a great (if not the best) box mod bottom feeder. or if you dont mind dripping or using dual coil cartomizers Silverbullet from altsmoke or precise from super t manufacturing.

Or just get SOMETHING that can do 4+V and try out a Dual Coil Cartomizer by SmokTech. They are INSANE, they hit really hard and produce a shi* load of vapor :p
