I'm using a KGO at the moment but have become a bit unhappy with it, so I'm thinking of buying an Apollo Vtube. I would like to hear what people think of it. I would be buying a starter kit (probably the mini size), so was wondering what, if any, other equipment I would need to buy with it to get started.

Does anyone know how long the mini size battery lasts between charges? Or should I just go for the regular size?

Also, what cartos etc do you think work best with this device.

If anyone thinks there is a better, similarly priced device out there I'm open to suggestions about that, too.

I'm fairly new to all of this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I sent mine back... for me there were to many issues.. The miss fire of the button was the most annoying and in the end I could not justify the cost vs the annoyance. So I bought a silver bullet :)

As a cheap unit its OK and did what it said on the tin, but could could put the money to a better device but it will cost you more money, but a better unit will last you longer.

I found it very airy so factor in a sealed shorty adapter too.

Just my opinion.

My 2 cents. I ordered a mini and they shipped the regular one with the 1650 ma batteries. I am glad they did. I get all day at 4.5v with a single coil 3ohm or 4.2v with a 2.5ohm dual coil. I had switch that quit firing and they replaced it with fabulous service, had the new one a month with no probs. Thumbs up to Apollo! I would recommend getting an extra battery or two just to have a fresh on ready to go. As far as carto's go there is alot of info here to digest. 2.5ohm DC's or 3ohm SC seems to be righteous. Just remember the higher voltage the higher resistance. It is all about watts in the end a 2.5ohm will produce the same watts at 4.5v as a 3ohm does at 5v (Volts x Volts /Resistance of carto =watts).

I also use an eGo TWIST I got recently and am using 1.6 ohm XXL Smoktech cartomizers (10mm,no tank) with phenomenal results at 3.7 to 4 volts.

I have a pair of Mini's, black & SS, and they work just fine with no problems at all. As far as battery life I really don't know as I've never really checked. I use them at home only and I just generally put a fresh battery in every afternoon when I get home. I'd imagine you get 6-8 hours though. For the money ($52.47 shipped for black (here in the US)) it's a great value. Folks that own a Provari or other high end PVs will call it junk, I call it functional. It has a 2.5 amp limit so it's not an arc welder but with 3.0 ohm devices it can perform from 3 to 6 volts...

With the 30% discount at Apollo, I don't think there is a better, similarly priced device out there.
If battery life is an issue, definitely go for the larger size. The battery life of the mini size is less than half of the full sized and the full sized is not as big as you might think from viewing the pictures.
The stock batteries should last about 6 and 14 hours, in the mini and full size, respectively.
Much larger 2000+mah batteries are available for the full size. The battery options aren't as wide for the mini.

I've had the Apollo kit for several months and have no complaints, but be aware that it has a 2.5amp current limit.
This means that it will automaticall adjust your voltage down to within that limit if your resistance is too low.
If you use 1.5ohm cartos, your voltage will be adjusted to 3.7V. This isn't a huge issue with single coil cartos and they will work, but dual coil cartos will be pretty lame.
To take advantage of the full range of voltages, keep to approx. 2.5-3.5 ohms.

The Vivi Nova 2 tank works beautifully and I can't recommend it highly enough.
You won't need any type of adapter for anything with the aluminum model. The stainless model may be helped by a shorty 510/510 extension as some people feel the draw is to airy with some cartos/tanks.

I'd suggest choosing the chrome finish if you don't mind the fingerprint issues. It's built more durably than the aluminum version. Not that the aluminum is so bad, but for $60-70, the Chrome or stainless models are a particularly nice deal.

You will need a spare battery. The included batteries are pretty good, but there are better ones available, particularly for the full sized model. Other than that, it's a pretty complete kit and Apollo's warranty and service are top-notch.

I just bought one this morning and got a notice within 2 hours that it was already shipped. I bought the stainless one, which I think is a good deal for $73 with the vtube30 discount code. BTW, I'm currently using a KGO also.

I intend to use standard resistance (~3ohm) cartos, clearos and tanks with mine. I need to grab a Vivi Nova or 2.

I bought the regular instead of the mini. While the mini's size appeals to me, the hassle of always having to carry an extra battery around due to the short battery life completely offsets the size advantage.
