They just listed those yesterday, so it'll be at least a week until anybody can confirm it for sure. However, fasttech has been good about that, if it's a clone/fake they won't identify them as brand name. They have been selling other models of xtar chargers and batteries for quite a while, and nobody complained about them, matter of fact they usually sell out of any XTAR products they post within a few days. And they have a 45 day return policy, along with 6 months warranty, so in the unlikely event that it's fake just return it. Having said that, I'll be ordering me 2 of them within the next couple of days, as soon as I get the rest of my order together...

Very true about fasttech, and I like that about them. I am able to make a decision whether to buy a clone or not, knowing it is a clone vs not really knowing... I just like to see in writing it is authentic.

I haven't seen the Xtars on their site before, but only came across them about 2-3 months ago when I have been researching battery safety and APV's. I saw the link on the flashlight guys forums. Anyway not in the market for another charger yet. I am happy with my nitecore. It works. I will be picking up a VP1 though in a few months when the wife stops whining about my vape stuff. Go figure.. I spent 50 bucks a week on smokes and she never said a word... now a package come in the mail every 2 weeks or a month. I limit myself to 50 bucks a month. She whines like crazy about it. Saved 900 bucks in my first year of vaping vs smoking. I told her and she said.. I thought it would have been more.

A guy just can't win.

"yes still happy with my choice on the SVD...cant wait till next week to order it...then wait on the slow boat from china "

It is heavy.. I like it though. That slow boat has always been 6 days from when I get my package. 3 orders so far. Now with the li-ion battery air shipping who knows what will happen if you buy batteries from them.

Which batteries did you get? If you don't mind me asking?

You can't go wrong with either the SVD or the Vamo V3. I chose the latter, but only after about two weeks of struggling with the decision (and prodding from Bill B about going for both).

I have another Vamo in my cart at FastTech. The first one I got was the black chrome plated brass. I like it a lot, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the brass 510 threads. The one in my cart now, which will be ordered as soon as my clients pay their damned bills, is the stainless version.

I can't wait to mix and match tubes between the chrome and stainless. Should be hours of fun.

For less than $9 more you can get the SVD, quality Panasonic batteries, and the same charger that ALSO includes a car adapter. Here was my order from Fasttech:

I'd go against the SVD... a complete letdown. It's not sealed, I had to have mine replaced. I have this on the way... https://www.fasttech.com/products/1381501

I have the version 2 in stainless and I like it a lot. It came with the same charger which is made for the US but it also came with the adapter. I normally don't use the charger that came with it but when I do I keep a close eye on the output and it has never over charged my batteries or given me any cause for concern.

The batteries that come with the kit are unprotected ICR batteries, not the best selection but if treated with respect, that is don't try to pull high amps through them or stack them, they will work fine. That being said I would recommend getting some good IMR batteries since they are designed for a higher amp draw.
