So as the title reads I want to try DIY. Mainly for the cost savings (if there is any). Here is what I'm thinking of starting with:

250ml of 60mg nic PG nic base, I want to cut it down to 12mg so I figure I can get 1250ml out of it (sound right?). I am also curious of a good PG/VG ratio. 70/30 seems popular. So far I'm not a big fan of fruity flavors. I like nectarine and red bull but not enough to vape very long. I bought 10ml of each a month ago and still have quite a bit left. But tobacco is my fave. I'm hoping someone can point me in a direction of recipes or flavors to order to attempt to make some good juice. So here is what I prefer:

Medium TH
Smooth tobacco with hints of vanilla, chocolate and maybe a bit of coffee. So far my favorite juice has been Tribeca mixed with Cafe Mocha. I mix it 3 tribeca to 1 Cafe Mocha.

At this point I don't even know what is a good arsenal of flavors to order and what other things I might need (like sweetener or Ethyl Maltol) and maybe someone can point me to some good recipes and I can go from there. I have pretty well read all the stickys so I think I have the mixing supplies down that I need.

Do you bottle in glass or plastic? Any difference?

I see that wizard labs is down, any suggestions on suppliers? Thanks in advance for the help.

the closest receipe i found for tribeca is
10% TFA Double RY4
and 1 drop of Acetyl Pyrazine per 5 ml

I vape it everyday I feel it is actually better.....and way cheeper.

I bottle in glass because I dont want any chemicals leeching from plastic but that jusyt may be me being a hypo.

theres a thread in the DIY section on wizard labs where a bunch of people list they're favorite or alterative suppliers.

good luck

Assuming 10% flavor (125ml flavoring), and an additional 875ml PG/VG, yes you will end up with 1250ml of 12mg juice.
Assuming 20% flavor (250ml flavoring), and an additional 750ml PG/VG, you will end up with 1250ml of 12mg juice.

Here & There
For tobaccos I'd extend my search to the super concentrated flavors as these are easy to work with and vapeable pretty much immediately. These and Hangsen are good for beginners. Can be purchased at ecigexpress or vapingzone. Another brand that carries tobaccos is FlavourArt. I recommend you try more than one brand to find out what is good for you. I heard the TFA Black Honey I think its called is good too.

If you're tobacco oriented, I'd suggest picking up a small bottle of TPA tobacco absolute (TA) diluted (with alcohol/PGA). This is something that used sparingly adds a nice bit of cigarette flavored "grab". It is quite potent, I use 2 drops per 10 ml of final eliquid in my mellower tobaccos, or 4 drops per 10 ml in my really firm tob4. The quantity used is so small that I don't factor it into my mix calculations, just add it at the end, shake well.
(drops is the measure I use, because it came in a glass bottle with eyedropper)

If you're more into the other flavoring than the tobacco, TPA tobacco blend (TB) alc is quite nice. I believe it is tobacco absolute mixed with ethyl maltol. It is much weaker/softer than straight TA, goes nicely blended with vanilla, fruits,... My all day vape is 10% TB, 10% Natures Flavors vanilla. (I may try a batch with a TPA vanilla, I just use a lot of NF flavorings because I know some people who need to vape 0 PG )

DIY is a lot like general vaping in that the start up cost will be steep but will ultimately pay off over time. If you consider the shipping cost alone, you will come out way ahead, though it might take a few months to recoup the investment.

Some things to add to your list.

A small plastic funnel
Several different sized syringes and needle guages
At least one large graduated cylinder and one small one depending on batch sizes...i have 25ml and 10ml
Gloves
if you dont currently have an atomizer get a few for tasting

For graduated cylinders, goodprophets at least used to carry some. I ended up picking up a 100 pack of 15 ml from US Plastics, even with giving a bunch away I still have quite a few :)

For syringes, you just need oral syringes, handful of CC/ML. Ask nice at a pharmacy desk and they'll often give you a few, else just ask where the baby oral syringes are located.

Thanks!

I think I'm good on the hardware other than some bottles to store it in. I think I remember seeing those at the health food store though. Syringes I get at the farm supply. I'll add another tobacco to my list.

For bottles Glass Bottles | Small, Decorative Glass Bottles has great selection and prices, but the shipping can kill you, they charge by weight. I picked up a mess of 1/2oz, 1oz, 2oz and 4oz capped bottles and a few droppers of each size rather than getting dropper bottles. Saved money and I have caps for all bottles and enough droppers to move liquid. Having cobalt, green, amber and clear bottles will help segregate my juices too.

Hi. I haven't started DIY juices yet so don't take me as really knowing anything, but I did notice that High Desert Vapes has Wizard Labs 60 mg Nic Base for sale. You may want to check that out if you're really wanting Wizard Labs nic. Good luck!
