Sasquatch you didn't say what ohm coils you are using. If you are using a low ohm coil 1.5-1.8 you will get a hotter vape 2.0-3.0 ohm will give you a cooler vape. On your liquids you may have to let them age for a week or two in order for them to be like what is at the vape shop.On using a lower nicotine you may have to vape more in order to get the same amount of nicotine in order to curb your cravings. This is what I have figured out while I have been reducing my nicotine level down from 12mg/ml to 1mg/ml.There is a lot of knowledge here on ECF that can get you over this hump don't give up my friend.

I think most folks probably use a very different kind of coil for an RDA, and maybe even low- or sub-ohm, but I build for my Igo-S precisely the same way I build for my kayfun: about 1.8 to 2 ohms, and generally run it at about the same wattage as I run the kayfuns, around 8w-9w or so. I wanted an RDA with tighter airflow, hence the Igo-S, so it would be similar to a kayfun, since I only use my RDA for tasting, not just sitting around vaping. It does give more intense TH, so I might run it a little lower than my kayfuns, since I want the taste and experience to be as similar as I can make it, so I can tell if a juice would be good in a kayfun. If it's not so great, then I try it in a carto. Right now I only have one cartotank, but I found them for $6 at VaporKings, so I'm thinking of getting a couple more.

1.8-2.0 ohms @ 8-9W will definitely not hit like my 1.4-1.5 ohms @ 14 watts, but different tank also means different airflow. I have tried a kayfun with 24mg juice in it and it wasn't so bad (knowing the guy, he probably had it set around 12 watts). Also, I don't remember mentioning my main juice is 70% PG... I'm sure that makes quite a difference.

I dunno; I have to stay at at least 80% PG, and 85% is better; anymore VG than that, and I'm just breathless, can't get a good breath at all, and feel like there's something in my chest that needs coughing up, but won't move.

I'm definitely at the cool end of vaping; my lungs really can't deal with too much heat, or even too much/too thick vapor. Considering I had to switch to ultra-light cigarettes over 20 yrs ago, because I could no longer deal with "lights" without coughing up a lung, it's not really surprising that I have to vape so conservatively. But, I still need 10mg nicotine w/WTA, and if there's not at least a little throat hit, I'm just not satisfied. I got some of that "Flash" additive, to boost the TH a little in my sweet/fruit/bakery vapes that don't otherwise have it.

I haven't read the whole thread but has anyone brought up about adding distilled water?

I tried that, for thinning VG; it does lighten the taste and vapor production, which might be helpful, but it also makes attys pop like crazy; got popped right in the lip a couple times, and stopped trying to add water.
