Ok so I'm thinking of getting a Vamo. But I have some concerns. I'm way OCD when it comes to my toys lol. So I am hoping all of you Vamo experts could help with your input and advise. After reading what I could without m eyes burning lol here is my question. Does the Vamo still have the spring issues? I couldn't handle rattling. Has the recall issues I have briefly read about been resolved? (was that about the cap?) I do know where I'm getting batteries from at RTD but I want to make sure I'm getting the right ones. If I'm not mistaken that would be the 18650's and 18350's correct? Thanks in advance for your advice. Oh and who do you fell is the best vendor for price and service on the Vamo?

Yes the spring problem has been resolved. The "new" spring is gold colored and overheating doesn't occur anymore. I don't imagine anyone is selling Vamo's with the old spring anymore... at least I hope not!

The batteries you chose are correct. I own the AW IMR 18650's sold by RTD in my Vamo and they work very well. I use Efest IMR 18650's and Efest IMR 18350's also in my Vamo. The AW IMR 18350's should work fine. None of my batteries rattle in my Vamo's!

i have two vamo's they both rattle pretty bad the tube is just to thick for a 18650 battery to fit snug, you can do one of two things ether cover a battery with some tape to make it thicker ot use a unprotected longer battery.i have the gold springs and have never had any over heating issues but because of the over sized tube it will sometimes "reset" its self from the battery being so loose using AW IMR 2000mah battery i guess they break contact sometimes if they get bumped and you have to click 5 times to get it turned back on..no biggy really.

Jim, I love my Vamos (I now have 2 of them). Yes, I remember them rattling when I use the 18650. That's why I use 2 stacked 18350s in them when I want an extended mod; 1 otherwise. Not a rattle to be had. Vapor Alley has the best price I've seen on them outside of the classys: $49.99.

Check myvaporstore.com as well. Just got a SS Vamo from them. Ordered it Thurs night, was here in Saturday mail. $50.45 delivered with their April 10% off coupon H8EMZ

The spring pictured on the left is too wimpy to reliably prevent 18650s from rattling and from periodically becoming disconnected. I don't know if some places are still shipping VAMOs with that spring.

The steel spring pictured on the left has a resistance that is way too high causing battery and battery cap heating problems. I doubt if anyone still has VAMOs with this spring but if you get one don't use your VAMO until you replace the spring. It is not safe to do so.

These springs are the same item with different names. They have been reported by several people, including me, as working properly in their VAMOs. They will stop 18650s from rattling and periodically disconnecting as well as solving the heating issue caused by the large steel spring that shipped with the early stainless VAMOs. You need to pull out the base of the spring with your fingers just a bit to make it big enough so it doesn't fall out of the battery cap when changing batteries.

Ok I took the plundge. Got a SS and black chrome. plus 2xAW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh for the full size, 4xEfest IMR 18350 Button Top when in mini mode for out and about, and this charger NITECORE Intellicharger i4. Does this all seem right?

Good choices with everything here! Glad you took the plundge, oops I mean plunge, lol, it's all good!
