I'm not supposed to pay that much either. The only rep that's acknowledged the bill said when I ask about it was "I don't know". Nice customer service huh? I've been trying to get an explanation since February. I've been through every department and no one can come up with an answer. They say just pay it. I'm now taking it to their corporate headquarters. I'm not one to take the old Okydoke.

Good for you 5c! My Dad is finding the same thing with Direct TV. Promised one price and each month goes higher and higher. He's finding out that he should have just stayed with our local cable, unfortunately he ran up that bill and didn't want to pay the back bill at the time. Thought he was skipping out (so to speak), but he's now wishing he would have paid his back bill as it would have been cheaper in the long run. There is no contract for cable service either as there is with direct.

Beautiful Baldwinsville (CNY)
Got back to some wall work yesterday, installed another piece of sheathing and the studs/framing for the second window. Turns out there's one small piece (only about 12") of the header that's rotten. I said to heck with it, still put the sheathing in, just didn't even try to screw it in over the bad part, I'll see if I can cut out that small bit of junk wood, put in a new patch piece. It doesn't hurt my head if I put two small cuts in the sheathing, for a reciprocating saw, if I need to, but I may be able to get it out without the cuts. Siding goes over the sheathing, so no issue just caulking a couple narrow slits.

A couple evenings of tstorms in our area, we haven't gotten much from them but it's been enough that outside ladder things have had to be limited. Hopefully pop up the last piece of sheathing today, then the window cutouts and housewrap. After that is the actual siding, 3 sheets, but they pretty much just plop over the new sheathing, a fast evolution.

Good luck with that wall Mark !!

Direct is never gonna be a reputable company..Never!!!!!!!!!! If you do me wrong we will talk about it once...Twice??? Blood will spill...It's hard to bust a nose thru a phone line...I told them that each and every month I will pay $88 whatever the bill may be...The rest they can stick where the sun don't shine...I'm through with the bullsheet...

Good luck with the mixing and the storms Tracy...

It's been storm after storm down in Dixie...Severe storms are forecasted for today...So far nothing I've seen could be classified as severe...After all the hurricanes and tornados....Well I'm a little gun shy of the wind....Any new structure I build must be on tilt...My mobile home has seen eight direct hits...my storage building five direct its by various hurricanes...My family only leaves things here at the beach that can be easily replaced...You never know when a storm or break in will occur...We've been lucky...The kids across the way got a visit from the local po po this morning...Their older brother drives a black Hummer with the required big wheels...That may be profiling...He was also managing one of those internet cafe`s...that's a video gambling parlour for those who don't know...video poker is illegal so they switch to internet poker and now thankfully that's illegal to...I can't wrap my head around playing poker against a computer..Like it's set for you to win...and believe it....it's set...Gonna hit the road back home this afternoon...I need my big boat down here as this is where it's used...It's also parked on the grass at home...

Good afternoon everyone! Yep, slept late again.

5, this used to be a great neighborhood, but with the old folks passing on it's become transitional. The house on our south side is filled with partiers crawling around on all fours every weekend, as is several houses to the north. If you pull up the local sex offender map, you'll see one across the street and another 6 within a half mile radius...and now unofficially, our own house. The older folks that are still here are mostly good folks.

Ya I had Dish for a couple months and it's the same bs. They weren't going to let me go without paying the early quit fee that's about $400.00. I just told them I'd take that up with the states attorney general and I told them they suckered me into the whole deal. They didn't want to play that game so they let me go. I didn't even get a bill for shipping the equipment back. I don't take them thar peoples BS. If I'm wrong I'll pay whatever I owe but I'm not going to let some company fleece me. I also refused to talk to them reps that can't speak English. They made sure I always got American speaking supers to talk to.

We had some gansters move in a couple doors down that partied non stop, always had people coming and going all hrs. but they wouldn't park at the house. They'de park about 2 blks away and walk to the house. Gun fire all night. Then we got Samoan partiers that live accross the street from the gangsters. There was fights between the two in the street all the time. The cops said they had to go there so often that they just staeted parking at the end of the block. It's peaceful again since they moved out last month.

I guess I shouldn't complain, I can only imagine how many neighbors I've had in my past who were glad to see me move lol. The really sad thing about the couple who bought the house on our south side is that the man is an alcohol and substance abuse counselor. On the weekends, there are cars parked in front of our house and halfway down the block...all of them over at the neighbor's.

You all could be describing my neck of "the hood". Lol!!! Just like Bov said, as the older neighbors are passing, younger idiots are moving in. We've always had some, and truth be told it was a lot worse here about 10 years ago, so it has calmed down some. I do like and get along with my most immediate neighbors on all sides, but there's a few wing dings beyond that. Some you just know are party places, with all the traffic, some are domestic disputes every other week, others you just don't even want to know. That sex offenders list???? Yeah, there's too many for my liking in this area and that's why my girls were never allowed outside alone....NEVER!
If they played outside, I was out on the porch watching. Some people say I sheltered my girls too much but you know what, so be it, I'm pretty darned proud of how they turned out and nobody was going to hurt them.

You're girls are beautiful Tracy, and I'd have sheltered them too! The south side neighbors have a young boy, well she does. He spends most of his time with his father, but I made sure she knew about the sex offender list and which houses they live in before she bought the place. They are nice people, just young and still partiers.

Very sad news from my ex in Florida. We lost another one of the beautiful babies that we had rescued. Cayenne had a gallbladder infection a couple of weeks ago, thought everything was fine. She spiked a fever last night and Frank rushed her to the vet, but she suffered severe brain damage from a 107 fever. Even tho I haven't seen her in a long time, her passing leaves a hole in my heart. She was 13

Sorry to hear that Bo.

Might be one of the old drug counselors from over here. This guy I new about was always buying and using after he got of work at his counseling duties but then I guess it started while he was working. He told them he was doing outreach work but UA's don't lie. They finally sent him to jail. That garbage has ruined a lot of lives.

LD I just had the Direct guy talk to me and he was telling me about saving all this Dough-Re-Mi by switching to it. I said if I didn't have to sign that contract I might think about it but that contract gave them too much power. He said he would put it on paper exactly what I would pay each month. I told him they told my friend (you) that too but now they're billing him more. I told him until you got things right he didn't have a chance with me.

Thanks Lilac and 5, yep she was a sweet girl.

It has ruined lots of lives 5, and it makes me sad to see people so young and promising getting loaded like that. I've heard Wharf say it, and I echo that the worst destroyer I've seen is alcohol, mainly because it's not only accepted, but encouraged! I know that bans don't work, but I get so frustrated that we continue to fight hard on the battle to keep e-cigs legal and accessible, but every other commercial, billboard and ad you see is proclaiming that alcohol will make you fun, sexy and popular.

Whoa...take this soap box please! I don't wanna stand up on it this time.

Thank you Bov! (about my girls)
I am so sorry to hear about Cayenne. I know the hole in your heart you are speaking of. :(
I agree with you about the alcohol remark, totally.

Most of the dogs we adopted came from our local Humane Society, but Cayenne didn't. I found her in a cage with only a rabbit bottle for her to lick to get water. She was about 4 months old. I was immediately enraged, brought her a cup of water and asked the fool who had her in the cage why he didn't have a bowl of water for her...she was drinking from the cup like she was starved for water. The guy said, "because she kept knocking it over and he was tired of cleaning it up and refilling the bowl. I took her out of the cage and told the guy he was most welcome to call the police and tell them that I (gave him my name and phone number) had stolen his dog! Cayenne had a great life from that day forward.
