Good morning everyone!

Hey mod, I saw on the news that there is a big fire north of Phoenix. Hope the smoke isn't bothering you! Sounds like the thing is growing pretty fast.

I'm really happy to see Sdh get that faster Internet service. I know she's enjoying that!

We live wayyyyy out in the boonies and are on the very fringe of the AT&T DSL service area. Sdh is getting around 30 mbps download speed and mine is a roaring 2.80 We get it through ATT U-Verse in a package with our phone and long distance and the price is certainly good and its reliable ... but it bugs the tar out of me that we can't get a good mbps speed. I could go with satellite but the cost is way higher. I guess I'm stuck with it.

And on those morning glories. Yeah they are pretty but man are they invasive! Keep them well away from your house. I had them growing up through the siding on the house and through the floor boards on the porch. I did find a liquid that would kill them, but I guess we'll be plagued with them forever. Our house is up on piers and some of the areas under the house I couldn't get to and the danged things are growing with roses that came from some my wife's grandmother had raised and if I kill my wife's roses I'm dead meat. Or worse!

Another problem with morning glories here in East Texas is snakes. The snakes like to climb up in the thick vines (we actually have snakes up in thick brush and small trees here) and we've come face to face with them more than once.

I can live real well without morning glories or snakes.

Oh, and you guys, please have a nice day!!!

Yay!!!! Welcome back Sdh!!! You sure were missed girl! ;)

I agree whole heartedly with TT on those Morning Glory vines. I'm still fighting those little suckers and we tore down that chicken wire fence the summer after we bought the house.....or 18 years ago!!! They wrap themselves around YOU if you sit still long enough. lol But the flowers are indeed gorgeous!!

Congats on the blazing speed SDH !!!

TT I'm in the boonies as well...My only option was a wireless connection...That's good as I take it too the beach as well...I use Virgin Mobile's unlimited 3G at $50 a month with no contract...4G isn't available here...I'm well pleased with Virgin...My phone is with Boost and I like them as well...No funny business with the bill unlike Verizon and Direct TV...

Last time I mixed juice there was a bottle marked CC...I thought it was Carmel Creme when actually it was Carmel Cappacino....Loaded that into the new Dbox and even at 3% that stuff is STRONG!!!!!!!!!! My only complaint is a very dark roast almost burnt hint on exhale,,,I'm guessing that's just the flavor of cappacino though...Dang stuff made me feel queezy...I did have some minor issues with the factory installed coil but managed to get it working. I'm thinking it wasn't making a ground connection...The Haze, Mt. Dew and Carmel Cappacino are all very clear and mileage on the coils has been great so far..

Lol Dee, I think I recall hearing that you mix the Caramel Capp at 1 drop per 10ml...it is wicked strong.

Welcome back Sdh!

TT, one great thing about Ct is that we don't have many snakes here! I can handle bugs, spiders, and mice...but I'm all girl when it comes to snakes! At my ex's house in Florida, I found coral snakes in my flower beds more than once. You do not want a bite from one of them, especially if you live out in the boonies like we did! I've also had my share of scorpion stings, they like to hide in the mulch.

Moon, I needed that muffler this morning! MIL was .....in up a storm while I was trying to get my coffee started, and I snapped on her. Told her to wait until I had at least half a cup in me before she continued LOL.

She took Chase for his walk and by the time they got back I was ready to hear what turns out to be a disturbing phone call she got at about 7am. Someone called looking for Kevin, she told him that he doesn't live here anymore. This guy proceeded to go off on her about "How the hell does a 79 year old woman not know how to contact her own son??" She says he refused to tell her who he was or what he wanted, but she said he told her he was from Michigan. I have a feeling she just didn't pay attn. to his name....but I sure do wish I'd been the one to talk to him!! I am livid that some ...... would talk to her in a threatening manner!! I figure it was one of those bottom feeder bill collector, but now Katie is scared, and convinced that Kev has done something in prison that has ...... off the wrong people. She is convinced we are on some kind of squeeze list  She has no clue that she could have recorded the call on the answering machine...I hope that bass turd calls again when I can talk to him!

Never a dull (or peaceful!) moment around here.

Bo, look at the caller ID and get the number. Then you can call him back or at least find out who he is. Another thing you could do is report him for threatening her. I love talking to those lowlifes. Probably, as you said, a collection agency.

Sorry you have to go through all that. You need a new address. Maybe we should start a Save Bovinia Fund.

We don't have caller ID, 5c, and most collection punks block it anyway.

LOL @ the save Bovinia club! I can tell you one thing, as stressful as living here is...if someone wants to mess with Katie, they damn well better be prepared to come thru me! Anyone who jerks with the elderly, kids, or animals is the lowest of the low.

Most likely a collection agency or a somewhat nosy person. My mom had threats from credit agencies when my oldest bro went thru a period of listening to his girlfriend. He lost about 20 grand that he had. In addition, the credit he had he had to file bankruptcy eventually.

In the meantime, the credit folks harassed my mom. She was onto the game tho. It infuriated them more. I think she started to have some fun with the credit collectors.

Hey guys! I was reading there is a old new scam going on again. It is someone impersonating a security agent with a credit card company. They will want your numbers. This information is then used asap to perform transactions, etc. They will say a bunch of crap to scare you into giving those numbers. Hang up and call your CC company or bank. Just thought I would share.

I figure a collector too, but I'm pretty familiar with the law in that area, what they can and can not legally say or do. Once a debt has passed hands several times, the scum collectors get them and don't care about the law because they know most people are intimidated by their tactics. Katie is easily manipulated by them as well as scammers, and won't just hang up the phone on them.

Yall just got to see my Mama Bear side lol. I'm fairly easy to please and get along with...but don't mess with my people!

It was finally dry long enough for me to do some painting today. Boy I hate painting that scrolly wrought iron porch railing. Got it all sanded, cleaned and taped off, opened the can of paint and it was a half a can of solid goop. Guess I should have checked it first, but since I already had the prep done, I ran into town to get another can of paint. It's done...yay :)

Today has been amusing when I step back from it and review it. Woke up from my nap and was making a cup of coffee, Katie asks me "Are you awake enough for me to ask a question? Or should I wait until you have your coffee?"

I don't give out any numbers. One time my for real credit card company called me and I told them I wouldn't tell them nothing. I called the bank and they said it was my credit card people so he hooked me back up with them. I apologized but I told them I don't give out info to any callers.

LD I have an online account I keep about $5.00 in until I do a purchase. Then I transfer enough for the cost of the purchase. I have it set up so if there's no money in it, no money goes out.

Oh the joys of painting. I got two projects almost done today. Finished sanding and vines carving on this box I'm making for a friend and the stain done. Got the antique chair about 90% done and the next laptop finally got here and I'm ready to start on it tomorrow.
Mom-in-law wouldn't know what to do if you left. But you have to think of your own peace of mind.

Pfftt, I don't have a bank account or real credit card anymore (thus the debt collector calls) so I just pick up a $20 to $500 visa gift card at the grocery store when I need one. Pre-load it with whatever amount I want, then register it online when I'm ready to use it.

Fran that was funny! Yep it was a pleasant shock, and she even cooked dinner for me haha! She was quite surprised that I was so protective of her and ready to defend her if necessary. She's never really had anyone (besides her husband) who would stand up for her. She's a pretty tough old gal, but every so often I get a glimpse of the heart she tries to hide :) I guess I'm just an old hippie...why can't people just let go and love?

James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) died of a heart attack in Italy. Dang that's too bad. Sorry to hear it. He was only 51.

Oh no :( That's sad news...loved the Sopranos, but Gandolfini also did some other good stuff.

Oh you sneaked some more into your post John. I don't mind the painting as much as I do the prep work. But your end result is only as good as your prep! With your fancy wood working abilities, I just may have to commission a project from you. I want a VV pipe! I love the Jazz Carto pipe simple style, but I don't want to use a kick. Problem is I can't use the Buzz guts because there is no room to stack batteries. I love this look...mentioned it to Mike and he just laughed and said hell no! I'm not up to date on the latest tech for vv/vw using a single battery.
