Been driving since 1968, only had two new vehicles in my life, mostly drove old death-traps and enjoyed the challenge of keeping them on the road ...

Got tired of wrenching on cars, and bought me a Nissan Versa in 2011. Went to several dealers, gave them my card and told them to call me when they could offer a Versa hatchback with less then 10K miles for $15K out the door. Most of them laughed ...

Finally got a call from a small family-owned dealership that had a lease return with 5K miles. I wrote them a check for $15K (ouch) total cost and drove away ...

Its the most boring car I ever owned, and I say that with great affection. It starts every day, needs no maintenance for the first 60K miles (iridium plugs), runs quiet, and gets me to work and back ...

Now if I could just find vaping gear that was so low-maintenence ... :p

Mine is a 2002 Ford, 7.3 L DI Power Stroke pick-up, extended cab, heavy duty transmission and cooler and a recent engine overhaul with all new attachments, belts, hoses, cooling fluid tank .... literally everything. Practically a brand new engine but 180,000 miles on the truck. This beautiful baby has a specially built chrome plated brush guard that I'm always getting compliments on.

This is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned and its never let me down when I needed it.

Gasoline is 3.30~40 depending on where you get it...

I hear you on the Powerstroke TT....."00 Dodge 2500 4X4 Cummins Turbo Diesel here...6 inch lift kit rolling on 36' Super Swamper tires...I've got a fortune in that truck...Mostly I roll in my Park Service Ranger 4X4....It's a '96 w/77k....Yeah that's low....I love the expression from the yuppies when I go flying by on the interstate..At an original purchase price of $843 the little Ranger was quiet the bargin...the fact it blows ice cubes outta the a/c is a plus as well...

Five funny you should mention compression...Earlier I was reading on the effects of long duration camshafts on compression...These days the hitters run low compression and turbos/blowers...

I've been attempting to stain my Mom's deck since last fall...Temps only allowed for one coat then...I successfully dodged the rain and got the second coat on the breezeway and two sets of steps earlier this week...IMO there should have been ample dry time before it rained yet again...Nope...The rain has left light spots on the finish coat....There is a possibility of rain every day for the next week as well....Dang if it looks like I'll ever get it finished...

Kgj, mine is a 2003 Hyundai Accent. My ex bought it the day our divorce was final, then I bought it from him 3 years later for $6k cash. I don't remember how many miles it had on it when I got it. MIL has a 2006 Hyundai Elantra.

Dee, I know what you mean about the weather not co operating with the outdoor projects. I was glad to finally get a decent few days to get the shed roof tarred. I don't know which is worse, the weather, or listening to MIL gripe every day about projects not getting done.

Rico I think I've found your Versa vapor........ The Kayfun Lite. It uses a silica wick, very forgiving wrap and a 4ml tank. And it doesn't leak like a genny. 3 weeks and I'm still on my second coil.
