Well here is an update. Within about a half hour I got my ticket answered and a replacement is on the way. :)

Ya they're good folk at MV. I used to buy a lot from them and ever so often I do when I need something. Glad they took care of you DR.

I'm back to working on my new PV. I have screwed it up about 10 times and gone through enough wood to build a house. It just doesn't turn out the way I want it and if I can't get it the way I want it there's no use building it. I need to get some new cutters and blades for my saws and bits for my router too. That would help more than anything. What I really want is one of those duplicators Sears was selling a few yrs. ago.

Tracy I bet your washer filter in the drain hose was plugged. Either that or the pump was plugged. It's nice to get a new washer though.

Fran my fan never stops. I got it blowing right on me and when I tried to turn it off I missed the wind. I'll have to be freezing before I turn it off.

TT you may be running the ac in the winter but when Tracy puts the pool away they will be having fun making snowmen, snowball fights, and sledding. Then roasted marshmellows and hot chocolate by the fire. Plus a white Christmas.

5c, I wish it was that!!! I had my ex helping me out with it in May or June. He had it all apart, looking for the problem and originally thought it was a belt. No belts to be found inside!!! Then we put in a new pump ($70). I thought it was ok for awhile but NOT!!!! You can even hear water swishing in the bottom at the end of the spin cycle. Well, I just wanted to kick the shiz out of it, but decided not to put anymore time and $$ into this 10 year old machine and just start over.

Has anyone bought a new washing machine as of late??? Holy crap on a cracker (thanks Bov!) it sure isn't as easy as it used to be!!! High efficiency this, no agitator models, steam wash, spin dry.....are you kidding me? I just want to wash my friggin clothes. Then the sales lady says..."If you want the older type you'd better grab them now because they are pushing for everything to be high efficiency in the not so distant future" Well, that was it....the rebel in me decided to stay old school. So I did!!! :p
I will be happy to decide my own water levels thank you very much.....at least for the next several years. ;)

Off to run some errands but I will be back later. (((hugs))) to all!

Well Here is one last update. I am really impressed with MV customer service. Not only are they replacing it hassle free, but I have even already gotten a notice with a tracking number in my e-mail that the new one has already shipped. :) I am going to have to go to MV sub forum here and pay them a huge compliment. I seem to recall getting something from them defective a couple years ago and they were equally as helpful and hassle free then.

Everything is like that Tracy. That's what I hate about new cars. I like Maytag Washers or used to but they cost a little more, or used to. It's been a long time since I bought a washer. I fixed ours a couple yrs. ago. It needed a new bearing and it's worked great since. That's when I found out about H.E soap, tha'ts what burnt out the bearing. We were using regular soap in it and that's a no no. I keep waitng for it to give up because of all the washing it does.

So with a High Efficiency wash machine you have to use different soap? I had no idea. I guess our wash machine here must be the older type.

Yes. The suds get up on the bearing and ruin them The HE is low sudsing. At least that's what the washer guy told me when I bought the new bearing. The bottle has this HE on it.

Haha, we sound like our parents did back in the day when many new things were coming out on the market! "Leave things alone and quit trying to sell me new and improved!" I remember my Great Granny getting her first gas cook stove and she absolutely hated it! After about 2 months, she made Grandpa take it out and put her wood burning cook stove back in. She said the gas stove made her food taste funny...she had lived with the wood smoke flavoring her cooking all her life

You're welcome Tracy ;)

5c, I was all about Maytag too but ended up going with GE. It was simply an appearance issue. The good news is that both GE and Maytag are back in the U.S.A!!!!! That fact alone made my day. ;)

Great to hear about MV Denrock! Glad they are taking good care of ya. :)

Bov, Your Granny and I would have gotten along great!!! I opened up my washer once while accidentally using HE laundry soap and thought "How the heck is this cleaning my clothes?" Then I added more soap!!! hahaha

Funny, My daughter ask me earlier if I would clean the lint out of it. I just got done putting it back together after cleaning a ton of dog hair and lint out of it. It's a wonder it even dried clothes.

Tracy I thought the same thing about my shampoo. Wen doesn't have suds and I thought How is thins going to clean anything.

Bo I think the same way. I got some friends in MT. and they still use a wood stove and oven to cook on.

Complete change of topic (like we have one here) if you need a feel good movie, I have one for you. If you believe like I do, that music is the song of the soul, that it is the universal language, you will love August Rush! It's not a new movie, and I'm not sure how I missed it until now, but it went straight to my heart. The story is good, the music and the concept behind it is amazing!

Hey Tracy, I went through the shocker of buying a new washer a few years ago. I bought one of the HE top loaders with no agitator that washes like an industrial side loader. Hope that made sense lol

Anyway, I LOVE it! I can wash anything in it. King size quilts and comforters that used to have to go to the laundry mat can now be washed at home. Even sleeping bags, etc. It cleans well and was a great investment.

Good luck!

I get stuff from them once in awhile because they are only a few hours away. I get packages next day. Never had an issue with them :)

Ooh, you must use the soap made for HE. I guess that you know that now. The salesman at HH Gregg explained all about using the low sudsing soap to me when i bought mine. It cleans so much better than the old style washers imo

Maytag is nowhere near as good as they used to be. My sister has a set and have had many problems with hers. They sold out to someone years ago and the quality went straight down hill.

Ooh, careful with that, 5C! That is a huge fire hazard. I used to work for a disaster restoration company and you may be amazed at how many house fires we had to send people out on that originated from lint in the dryer vent.
