I recall with great clarity that morning I sat at my PC, booted up ECF and saw the thread FranC had started about her son-in-law's accident.

And I recall thinking that an electronic cigarette forum was an odd place to vent emotions of that magnitude.

Then I noticed who was responding: Bov, 5-card, Pokey, Wharf, El Dee, et al. Too many to remember them all. Friends of mine, doing their level best to soothe the pain felt by one of their own, a member of their family.

I recall my recognition of the fact that our bonds here—electronic, physically and geographically disparate—are very, very real.

I think that's why this place felt like home to me very quickly...the bonds that are real and the fact that we openly share our RW emotions with each other. Honestly, I don't know any other way to be in my life. Be it virtual or face to face, I'm either all, in or all out. If it weren't for the bonds of love here to hold me up when I was going under this past year, I'd likely be in a lock down ward in a straight jacket. Paying it forward is much more than sending *things* to each other, it's showing up, being there when needed, and making some kind of positive difference in the lives around you.

Go 9er's? ;)

Fran it's good to hear Wayne is doing well....

New England and Denver...Is it possible they both could lose?????

I should have never said those bad things about the Panthers...dang PI won the prize.....Curses....Foiled again!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week I noticed Mom's toilet leaking from the wax gasket...I was under it in the basement getting the ladder out...She had a local company install tile over the hardwoods a few years back...The house was built mid-50s and has cast iron drain pipe....My thinking was a wax ring should last way longer than this one did....I need too be at the beach working on that floor so I went too Mom's after today's first game...One bolt was spinning after loosening only a little...Rutt Rohh Shaggy!!!!!!! I removed the toilet and found half the cast iron flange gone...Obviously this was done when the tile was installed as I've had this toilet out for repairs previously....Couple that with the fact the wax ring was barely making contact due too the increased thickness of the tile....Hey they make a ring that clearly states "thicker for tiled floors"...I got one!!!!!!! Now I got to either replace the flange and pipe or gamble with a repair kit...If 5 were here I'd grease his palm and having him sitting outside the tile shop in the am....I ain't got time to fool with 'em....Seems anymore all I do is home repairs...but when I do it's for the duration....

I was on the FB earlier and there is def a tear in the Panther beer...I had the game on but wasn't following closely....It's a definite possibility the refs made some bad calls but I can't vouch for that...I do know that all teams scoring over 20 beat the Panthers this year...Great defense and a lack luster offense....I'll be riding with the winner of the Hawks/9ers....

LD the Panthers are a good team they just need Newton to get a little more NFL seasoning and they will be a great team. I figure next year they will be great.

Yeah a better offensive line and a couple of running backs would be nice as well....

Hawks got the home field and a great defense...Wilson could be great....I give a slight edge too the Hawks....

Pats...I still haven't forgiven the Brady fumble that turned into the snow blower incident...Cost us a trip too the big show....Don't even bring up the Denver Donkeys....I'd pull for Al Queda over Denver...Maybe both opposing defensive ends can take out both Frady and that dang Paidaton Manning....

I know exactly what you mean LD. I have a huge hatred for them as well.

Crap... I think I just did
.

I know what you mean Wharf. So did I after watching the refs in that game. Not that it would of mattered on the outcome. I figured the 9ers would win.

I have a ton of errands to do today so I better get moving!

I was mistaken on the type of car (SUV) that was given to my dd. It is a Suzuki XL7, not a Grand Vitara. Heck, it looks just like my Mom's GV only a bit bigger! .....and that's me with cars I'm sad to say. I can appreciate them for their beauty but at the end of the day they are all 4 wheels and a motor in my book. ***ducks*** ;)

Scored the youngun AAA over the weekend, today should be insurance day, tomorrow the DMV and finally get some wheels under her little ..... Say prayers all? Thanks in advance!

I agree anymore Tracy. They use to have unique style but now they all look alike. Gotta look at the emblem to tell what they are. Reminds me at the store last night I heard a sound I haven't heard in years and I turned to see an old Buick Riviera that needed new exhaust pulling out. Those old V8s had an unmistakable sound. Oh and thirst for gas.

Yes 5c, give me the older styles of cars (especially the muscle cars) any day of the week!!!!
I hate the new ABS braking systems, computerized crap, the way they are assembled under the hood. You almost have to take some of them to dealerships because of it.

I grew up watching my Uncles work on cars, it's what they did for kicks on weekends. You don't see that anymore.

Friends, yes, family......hmmm.....I have seen too many members disappear from the forum, without so much as a goodbye. Family doesn't do that.

I was looking through some old posts and noticed that same thing Jerry. Makes you wonder where they all went........and why.

Most of the new ones are made overseas and that computerized stuff is not for me either. Plus all the relays to save money on wiring. But the one I hate the most are fusible links. They bury them damn things all over in the wiring harness so you have 2 choices. Either cut the harness apart to find it, if it blows, or run a new wire. The only upside I can see to them is the majority of the people now have to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. Oh and the ignition switches. We have 4 vehicles and 3 of them have problems of one degree or another with the ignition switch.

5card, I know why some have left. Some have moved to Facebook, others don't vape anymore and felt that they should leave the forum. The reasons are endless.

There are times, when I feel that I should leave too, but I stay, because of my friends who are still here. One thing is certain and that is I don't post nearly as much as I used to.
