I am out and about looking to buy a vacuum cleaner.
(Don't tell me I don't know how to live it up on a holiday weekend )

Good grief!
I need to whine for a minute, here. I looked to my left, to my right--nobody. So y'all are IT.

It is ridiculously overwhelming--the makes, the models, the styles, the PRICES. All over the place. And I live in a town (a city, so they say) just a hair beyond podunk...I cannot imagine what all the choices you ultra-cosmo, uber-metropolis, avocado and clam-eating experts would have to contend with...

That said, I've narrowed my selections down by price and by length of power cord.

I hate unplugging and re-plugging the vac in as I go from room to room. One house, one cord, that's my goal, LOL!
I don't really need a headlight, do I? No. Luxury item to bump up the sticker price.

I'd much rather be spending money on PVs and accoutrements, just sayin'.

Just remember, Pokeyone, the cheapest priced ones are usually the cheapest made. The highest priced ones have bells and whistles that you don't need and will probably never use. The middle priced ones are just right.

Why the heck does a vacuum cleaner need a headlight?

Wharf you can have my share of the stuffies, I'm not too keen on them. I'd rather have mine poached in a nice garlic-y Pernod / white wine sauce :)

Pokey, for advice on those type of things, I usually go right to Consumer Reports for reviews before shopping. Good luck in the hunt!

Jerry, the headlight is essential for people like me who's dust bunnies under the bed grow so big that they run from the vacuum...you need the headlight to blind them

Pernod?, white wine sauce? What are these strange things that you speak of Bov? They are not part of a native New Englander's speech or diet. Stuffies on the other hand, is something that we natives understand. :p

Ouzo ???? I do know Jack....Well I once knew Jack...

Thinking the Ouzo may be wine...Round these parts we stick with the homemade wine or the local Duplin County Wine...specifically the Sweet Carolina Red or the Hatteras Red...I just came by Duplin County Wine running about a hundred in the Dodge...just a flash is all they saw...

The toilet....After the first linoleum I reinstalled it....then uninstalled it....then after the second linoleum I installed it....Today as I dove under there too hook up the drain dang if the flange wasn't egg shaped...WTMFH??? Yeah I uninstalled it...That beech ain't going back until the drain is draining!!! That will be three wax rings and not one drop of water...A new flange and a street elle just as the factory installed hit the frame...Yeah I dropped back and punted...I smoked over the situation as I flew up the interstate...No biggie after I got it all thought out...The hell with what the factory did...This sumbeech will be El Dee spec...I did manage to get up most of the limbs and pine cones along with cutting the grass...Also got the wall stud and the tub spout playing well together...Made BIL start caulking the tub surround...Yeah I said made....He best not frigg it up either....

Few loose ends here then right back too the drain...It was crowded as heck....my Sis' family was there....I kinda prefer the place to myself and of course Spike....

Good luck with the vacuum Pokey...I'll drop by and vacuum a bit if you like....

The classic Greek drink Ouzo is made from a precise combination of pressed grapes and herbs and berries including aniseed, licorice, mint, wintergreen, fennel and hazelnut.

Ouzo is usually served as an aperitif, but is also used in some mixed drinks and cocktails.

You can trust that I didn't drink it for the taste ;)

Dee, I can't help myself, you got me in between crying for you and crying laughing! You coulda built a whole new place for the time you've put into that bathroom!

Weekend could have been better and it could have been worse. Thursday was very warm and humid. We sat under our canopy, hubby grilled and we ate and retired back under the canopy. I was thinking about starting a fire around 7 but it was still very humid. Just as well cause the T-storms moved in at 8. We sat out for another hour when we started get some spray from the rain. We got quite a storm, lots of lightning. Friday was a total wash-out with rain all day. Saturday turned out pretty nice after it warmed up and the winds died down some. Finally got to have our fire.
