My appt was at noon, and I was starting my car to leave at 12:30!!! Can't feel a thing on the right side of my face right now, but no pain at all (even for the novocaine Bov, my dentist rocks!) and it's looking, and I'm feeling much better! As long as there is no pain after this stuff wears off I will be a happy camper!

Of course I had to share with them that I quit smoking 2 years ago (we were always talking about it years ago) which then lead to the wonderful world of vaping, so they got a little education on the topic this afternoon. ;)

Thank you for the well wishes Jerry!! Bov I can't believe you sit through dental appts without novocaine!!! No way man, give me the needle. (I'm a wuss) hahaha I also got the epidural for all 3 births of my children. I was trying to tough it out for the second birth, but when the doc said I was about to lose my window of opportunity to get one at all, I chickened out for fear of the unknown and said bring it on! lol

Bov, I had two teeth ripped out, a third one broken off at the bone and a fourth one bent over so badly, it had to be removed. The front part of my gum was gone and I lost so much blood, that I almost needed a transfusion. The dentist told his nurse to cancel all his appointments, because this was going to take a couple of hours.

I was 14 and hell yeah, I wanted the novocaine, lots and lots of novocaine. LOL

Get a locking gas cap, 5card. I have had one for many years.
I think a 45 is a better solution. It protects everybodies gas.LOL

5er, that's terrible!!! I too had a locking gas cap for many years, UNTIL an attendant couldn't open it to put gas in my car. Another gas station just on the next block figured it out but it scared me so bad I ran and bought a regular cap that night.

OMG Jerry!!! They would have had to put me under for that for sure!!!! Ack!

I had one once. It was good because if I lost my key any little key that fit in the lock would open it.

Wishing you success for that lasik surgery 5c!!!

Thank you Tracy.

Naughty Kg!!

Ouch Jerry! I would have wanted to be put under for that! It's not getting the shot that I hate, nova goes beyond just numbing me. No matter how little they give me it numbs all down into my throat and makes me feel like I can't breath or swallow. It's not an allergic reaction, just a sensitivity that gives me panic attacks. amd it takes a good 10 to 12 hours to wear off. Nope give me a little discomfort with a filling over that any day! I just have them swab the area with whatever it is they use to numb the gums before they give the shot. Last time I let them use Novocaine was for a crown about 6 years ago and I asked the dentist to use about a quarter of what he would normally use for it lol.

Woohoo on the lasik 5c! Will this finish up your cornea transplant?

My car's gas flap has a lock, but it's all scratched up from "you know who" trying to pry it open to put sugar in my gas tank. Good thing he's not very mechanically inclined

Bov, I took a baseball bat to the face, it was an accident, not intentional. When you are really messed up like I was and bleeding all over the place, you just want to get it fixed. I was afraid of dentists, until that day. On that day, I was happy to see him and I didn't care what he did to me and what he used to numb me. He could have hit me with a hammer, to knock me out, for all that I cared. lol.

What I really missed, was the prescription for morphine that he gave me. I really liked that stuff, until a week later, my dad told me that I had enough of it and he threw it out.

Hi Fran and hi Bov. :)

Well I don't like dentists or anyone else working on me when I'm awake. Everytime I went to the dentist as an adult it was sodium pentothal for me. One time I let them use novacaine but not until they used nitrous first. After the nitrous I didn't care what they did. I always got a sucker when they were finished too.

So what, did TT cut us loose?

Yes it is nice Fran! A tad cooler suits me, but I'll take this over the "S" word. Translate that to either summer or snow...or both!

I can only imagine, Jerry. That must have been enough pain and blood for a lifetime

I made it through most of my almost 54 years fairly unscathed as far as accidents. Broke my tail bone in my 20's (when I still drank) broke a toe playing with my dogs in my late 30's lol. Only time I've had morphine was with my hysterectomy about 9 years ago. Apparently I was amusing when I would nod out in the middle of a sentence! The Dr sent me home with a script for Demerol and the next day I called and asked for something not so strong. My Dr laughed and said it was the first time anyone had asked him for less pain meds
