Yes Nvidia takes care of it'self. I won't let windows mess with mine. Sorry I was away again during your troubles. Here's a link to a Microsoft program that will repair a lot of problems on windows, should you encounter them again, although only windows. It wouldn't of helped with your Nvidia drivers. http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/

Hi Tracy. Hope your day is good.
Fran I think I got mine figured out too finally so I won't need to strip it down. Got another one I have to get started on. It's one I have to remove the graphics card and power supply on because I'm giving it to a person for their first PC and they can use the onboard card that's in it. Besides my son needs the card and needs to increase his power to run it. Never ending story but hey it keeps me busy and you know what they say. "Idle hands are the devils workshop" or something like that.

Me I was ready to pull my hair out.
Thanks 5c. I bookmarked that.

I use it sometimes. It straightens out windows if it's messed up but it does put your desktop back to huge icons which I hate. Besides those huge icons take up a lot of the processor. Easy fix though.

Today was an absolutely beautiful day here! Katie decided to hand wash her car one last time so when she was done, I took her soapy water and washed the underside of my hood, and motor. It has had oil splattered everywhere for quite a long time and I suspect it came from an oil change in the past where the oil cap didn't get put back on right, or maybe they spilled some and the fans/belts flung it around. At any rate, I'll be able to watch and see if it is a leak in the head gasket. I'm never low on oil, so if there is a leak it's tiny so far.

Katie keeps asking me what I want for my birthday, so today I told her it would make me a happy camper if she would like to let me take my car and have the radiator flushed and filled...she said that was fine :)

I HAD those. Glad they're gone.

Fran when your desktop icons are too large just right clck anywhere on your desktop, click view, then click small icon or medium icon. I run mine on small.

Good morning. Todays football.

Bov what a great b'day present!! I know all too well the importance of the flush and fill every few years. I had a head gasket issue with my car last year, mechanic said in time the old coolant becomes acidic and breaks down the gaskets. He said at least every 3-5 years to make sure to do a complete flush and fill. Mine was done last year but I now have that on my mind along with the every 3,000 miles oil changes!

Ugh vehicles!!!

First it's a remote possibility but head gaskets don't leak oil....they leak combustion and coolant....99% of the time a head gasket leak will park your car...

Yeah...Changing coolant is a required thing..If the car has been on a regular schedule of changes I don't add any flush chemicals...Sometimes I do drain and fill with water only...then I get the water good and hot and drain that for a flush...Lastly water should not come from the tap...I use reverse osmosis filtered....I've used distilled in the past...Coolant companies use de-ionized in their pre-mixed coolant..Minerals in tap water can aggressively attack metals in your cooling system...

Glad you got your computer fixed Fran...

Not much to report on down here...High was @68* yesterday and calling for 60* today...The wind is cutting the buck though...Debating washing some clothes and disappearing for a day or two...Every time I look under the Ranger and see the trans pan clean and drip free I hear Led Zep....Dancing days are here again,,,,,HellYeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent some sleepless nights ahhh worrying about transmission fluid...The new exhaust made by the biggest name in exhaust???? It fits and fits very well....It sounds great...Sound was labeled as aggressive and loud on the Ranger forums....I find it rather tame...Further proof that there are lots of "Nancy boys" out there...Installing the exhaust everything looks great while in the shop...The other night as Spike was out dropping one ml here and one ml there something on the Ranger caught my eye....Dang silver muffler on an all black truck....Looks like a dang refrigerator welded on down there....I've got two cans of black heat paint in my possession atm....Should that not meet my stringent requirements of the way things must be there will be a "Cherry Bomb" coming in the mail.....

G'morning everyone!

Fran, I know enough about computers to keep me up and running, but have a very hard time explaining how to fix a problem. If I can sit down at someone's rig, then I usually can figure it out. 5c is much better at walk thru's!

Tracy, my biggest issue with my car is that AH used to take care of all that stuff. I don't mean that he did it himself, but would always take it to get oil changes, fluid checks and fills, etc. Right before last winter set in he took it and claimed he had the radiator flushed, but with no receipt...I can bet I know where that money really went  Now it's a matter of me creating my own schedule of what gets done, and when.

Button up baby, it's gonna get cold tonight!
