Good morning beloved Buzzards!!! :)

Furnace guy coming this am. After speaking to him by phone yesterday, he does not feel that the flow valve is causing my problem, but instead wants to start with the thermostat and accustat (?) whatever the devil that is. It is no secret that even the oil companies agree that my oil consumption is through the roof. Last week I set my thermo to 64 and went to bed, woke up sweating and house temp was 70. That's too dang hot for me!!! I told him, fine by me to start there as those issues are covered by my service plan and the old mercury thermostat is probably older then me. Crossing my fingers that is the problem and I can worry about that flow valve thingy at a later date.

Have a great day my loves!

Tracy you need a programmable thermostat. Then you can set it to temps for sleeping and have it turn down while you're gone then warm the house just before you come home. They save a lot of dough-re-mi.

5er, you're so smart!!! ^^^That^^^is exactly what he installed for me today!!! Also found 1/2 inch of dust coverage on top of the mercury bulb...yikes! Who knew you could open that darn box on the wall and clean such things inside? Not this girl. lol Also, to my embarrassment and probably all of your amusement (and that's quite alright, I laugh at me all the time) I need to move the turtle tank this weekend. It seems positioning it just mere inches below the thermostat is a no no. Again who would have thought where I put my turtle tank (lighted) would mean so much? Again ...not this girl. Double  and a few of these:blink: followed by a ton of these:laugh:

Oh yes, have I told you all that I do live up to my hair color at times......and stuff? <3

Hahaha Tracy! I love you so much!! Yes you have to open the thermo cover and keep the dust blown out ;) But don't feel bad, none of us are born knowing that.

Our furnace (works the same as yours Tracy, except natural gas) started running a muck again last night and I had to turn it off at the main switch again. Call the tech out for the 3rd time today, and he can not find anything wrong! It's working fine right now, possible because it got reset by turning off the main switch. The accustat is the one on the furnace to which the thermostat "speaks" to when it calls for more or less heat. It's possible that the one for our downstairs zone is malfunctioning intermittently, but he can't replace it unless it is not working right when he is here  I hope we get it figured out soon...like you Tracy, I'm tired of running up and down to the basement, and wasting fuel!!

New 10 year li-on smoke detector installed...maybe I can get a few minutes to myself now!

Hope everyone is having a decent day!! 5c, if your user name on your folding client is not 5cardstud, do you mind PMing what it is to me so I can see if I can find you on the scoreboard?

You're points are at the top of that page, the chart where your name is, is just showing who is ahead and behind you :) The zeros by your name on that chart are not your points.

Here's the other page you're looking for, that links to the certificates

Okay. I accessed that page yesterday and it said I didn't have any certificates. Today they show. Oh well I was just wondering why. Thanks Bo for all your help.

Hey I got that credit card for my eye surgery but when I went in he said I can't do it on a moving target so he was waiting until my vision got stable. Well I went in the other day and he said "Your vision does change huh?" I told him it sure does. It's changed while I've been here. Anyway he told me he's going to reshape my eye with a laser on the 11th to get it to stabilize. I'm hoping he gets it close enough so I don't have to get lasik. Then they can take their CC back because this is covered by my insurance.

Oh please don't tell me this....I am liable to hurt someone if this continues. lol ;) If I told you what I spent in oil last year, not a soul would blame me for the previous statement.

Seriously though, as he was trying to convince me that the flow valve wasn't the issue by showing me all of my dust bunnies cohabitating and multiplying on the mercury bubble (hahaha), and the position of the turtle tank and light just below, I was thinking, "Well the dust was keeping the cold temp from reaching said bubble and acting like an insulator, and again, the light from the turtle tank was WARMING the thermostat....so why in god's name am I using so much oil??? The answer here is to have that blasted furnace running LESS than before, not MORE!"

He wants to start here and see what happens now, and told me to leave that valve alone for awhile. I have trust issues with him bc he works for that oil company. lol I will try and behave and obey the nice man...for now. ;)

I hear ya Tracy, just as our service techs work for the gas company! So far it's still working right, but it's still a mystery since he didn't do anything except run everything thru it's paces several times. And he had me running thru the paces too so I would understand how each part works, and what to check, and in what order if it goes balls to the walls again.

I sure hope they can get your vision corrected 5c! Will be thinking of ya.
