Evening all! Nope, don't look at me Tracy...that warm weather didn't get past you and up here to Fran, Jerry and me  I know we have snow coming but I haven't bothered to look at the detailed weather. Like I tell Katie all the time...worrying about it is like praying for what you don't want! We're gonna get what we get no matter how much energy we waste before hand.

Anyone who is going out on the town to celebrate tonight...please PLEASE be smart and safe

Happy New Years Everyone!!!!! Here's hoping all your dreams become realities....

Had sinus issues all day coupled with the flu paranoia from being exposed...Feeling better so maybe just maybe it was only a sinus headache....If I get the flu I'm beating his azz....

Issues being what they are I'm patiently waiting on things too come together so I can further my progress on my bath room restoration...One must have a great deal of patience these days,,,It will all have gone too hades in a hand basket should I have to dog sit for my Sis over the weekend...They are taking Mom too the Biltmore up in Asheville....and hell no I ain't going....I may ride down too the trailer park and get some double-wide design tips though.....

I now know a micro coil becomes a mini coil above 1/16th in diameter...I also know a cotton ball is easier than a roll to get wicks from....Then there's the Truman Wick....Further complications include wraps vs. wire diameter....height of coil from deck....alignment of coil too wick channels....Then there's the little thing where the forum logs you out while you're gaining tons of info...that's a priceless feature right there now...Through all the pics and videos I had some idea of how I wanted everything too work....More info is more info though.....I'll likely take my first shot with a 1/16th and cotton from a ball..I've a sneaking suspicion 5/64ths may be better for me though as I'm a pretty heavy vaper...Somewhere deep in that 650 page thread it was mentioned to wick a little better...Wharf I believe you said 16 gauge was where you were at..That's one step down from 1/16th if my research is correct...I'll be shooting for the 1.8~2.0 area for starters...I also be picking up some yarn as well for future experimentation...Have you ever tried the Truman Wick????????????

I've used the Roosevelt wick but that was before the Truman LOL

No LD I haven't ventured to much. I've use 16ga (.012" smaller than 1/16th) and 5/64ths. I went to 5/64 for a while and doubled the yarn and pulled it thru with wire. Sometimes I'll separate the twisted strands first. I liked it but the wick gunked up much faster. So I'm back to 16ga and I go thru 5-9mls a day. The wick will handle all you can give, it feeds very well.

I've used 30, 28 and 26ga kanthal. I think right now I'm running 28, 9 wraps @ 1.4Ω and I think 10 wraps get you 1.8Ω. And maybe 30 9 wraps for 2Ω

Wharf thanks for posting that....

The Truman is reported to produce very heavy vapor...He used roll cotton...Looks too me as if yarn would make a better Truman...I've my doubts about it's longevity...Changing every tank ain't something I wanna do....

Then there's the 30 heats faster than the 28....but then....the 30 gunks faster than the 28....

I have a short piece of stainless tig welding rod and if it's in the 1/16th area I may go with that first....I'd bent it into a squarish J shape and made a jig that holds the first leg tight as you wrap away. It worked well with the DID...Like I said not sure on the measurement of it but I will measure it...I'm planning 1/16th and 9/10 wraps with the 28....

My flavors are hovering in the 12% range...Dropping from always 20% I found a boost in flavor and a major boost in coil longevity...Some of my mixes are single flavor and I'm thinking of dropping one of those into the 6% range...You never know and I just wonder if we're not using too much flavor...I know for sure B&M juice tastes way to strong too me....
